Divorce before the IV interview

Unfortunately, things have become messy between me and my wife (USC).

It looks like we're getting a divorce real soon and her mom is about (or already has) withdraw her AOS for me.

Currently, my case is at the NVC, waiting for wife's tax returns (which obviously are not going to be sent anymore).

Question is: is there a chance to proceed with the process if another person becomes my AOS or if I use assets as evidence of meeting the poverty guidelines?

The marriage was bona-fide and lasted to-date ~2,5 years.

no, you no longer have a petition if you divorce, no wife, no petition, the petitioner is always the main sponsor

what matters is today, today you don't have a bona fide marriage, you won't have a marriage at all

One thing I forgot to ask you guys: should I call the NVC/USCIS and ask to withdraw my application?

Since I am eligible for a visa waiver, I'd like to be able to travel to the US as a tourist without this mess affecting me in the future
