Mystery Email from NVC

About 2weeks ago I got this email from NVC saying my case was finished processing and was scheduled for an appointment at my consulate/embassy. However, after calling NVC to confirm if this info was correct..... lo and behold, "they have no record of this mysterious interview scheduled and my case is still waiting for an interview date to be assigned."

cc was April 28.... still stuck at NVC

Still doesn't make sense.... and each time I call they're saying the same scripted line.... "this case is complete and awaiting an interview date to be scheduled."

So, where did that email come from though?????

I don't know whether to laugh or cry or do both at the same time.

If you re waiting on interview date its sounding like the case completed at NVC

now you must want on instructions, why don't you email the embassy , also

scan & send letter received to them , they will respond if its a fraud/scam letter

Was this letter send in a PDF attachment with DHS letterhead?

It was an email... not a postal letter. Maybe it was an error but I don't know. I just know no interview date has been set. It was then recalled so I really don't know what to make of it.

Wait n see I guess. I did send an enquiry too but got no response.

The interview date will come in an email but be in a PDF. It won't be in the body of the email like that.

If it is, I'd be worried that people have your case number.

Yes I was referring to postal mail. You would have got a email with the PDF attachment to open. It would have been an official looking in color with official letterhead of Department of State.

That's why I asked. This seems very fake and someone paying a prank on you that knows you specifics.

silvelining, I got a similar style email but instead of the interview date mine said it had been forwarded to the embassay. It was a regular style email like yours. I contacted the embassay to confirm that my case had been sent there and they allowed me to request an interview date. There is a login page on the embassay where I have the interview and it let me check my status and confirmed that the previous step had been done and an interview available.
