If my father comes to visit , he can only stay for 90 days. Is it possible for him to go to Canada and then come back for 90 days? And if so how long would he have to stay in Canada for? I am aware that he can only visit for 90 days at at a time and can ony do this twice in one year, just would prefer if he didnt have to fly all the way home and back if it could be avoided. If this is illegal I would like to know as he would not want to break the law

No, he will have to fly to another country then Canada or Mexico. Otherwise it will count as a continous 90 days stay if he goes to either or.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

I agree. If he wants to stay longer, he should apply for a tourist visa.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

Tourist visa would be ideal, but Ive been reading on here that if they refuse the tourist visa then he won't be able to do VWP either for at least a year it seems? He owns a house at home so there is no reason he wouldnt get one but seems like a bit of a risk
