Hi,

I'm planning to send Balikbayan Box from Missouri to Philippines this weekend. Any suggestion for forwarders or cargo services that has good reputation, not so expensive but will deliver your packages safe and in appropriate time. Please let me know. Thanks. God bless! :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Depends on where in the Philippines. You can expect it to reach Manila at least 60 days after being shipped then another 30 days to somewhere like Mindanao

We are putting one together now for Christmas.  We will probably ship in in September or October.  We are using Atlas in Chicago but I think they have a deal with LBC.  It is $65 for a big box and they will do a small one for free.

 

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

 

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

 

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Holy cow!!! Three months??  I used to send FedEx boxes to a friend who was deployed to Afghanistan and it took maybe one week.

How much did you pay?  Most big boxes go by boat so they take a while.  The Philippines is not great with mail and packages.

I said FedEx, but it was USPS. I used the medium and large sized boxes. I think I was paying $15.

I sent a first class letter to the Philippines and it took almost a month.  Philpost is the worst!
