The guy that interviewed him said he would look at few more papers in the file and he would recommend him for approval.

Thinking this mess is over today and have to wait longer.

should i call them or wait???

Sorry that Hicham didn't get the instant confirmation of approval, but actually from what I have read here, many people get that answer; they have to wait for the approval and oath ceremony confirmation and sometimes it takes a month or two. It is a good sign that the CO said he would recommend the approval! No telling what goes on for some people to be approved immediately and others who have to wait until whatever they have to do. However, denial is very very rare. I would say you don't have to worry and don't have to call just yet. Keep an eye on your online status. Best wishes for a fast approval.

thanks for help

I actually found two others that had to wait for oath letter one for 4 weeks other 131 days. They are both going through the st paul office and sound like had the same interviewer. Supposedly they use to do thousands at oath ceremony now like 70 or 125 that is crazy no wa they will ever get caught up.

I am sure in california there are many offices here in minnesota we all go through one office.

I will check online staus daily lol

I would literally go crazy without VJ lol.

I just had hopes that this would be last step in USCIS it is but thought it would be over friday. Seeing other get approval same day really is what worried me.

Each office/city seems to schedule the oath ceremony differently: some offices same day, some offices big ceremonies every few weeks or months, and some who knows. Anyway you are done with all your efforts I'm sure, now only waiting for them to get their act together and send you the oath invitation!

Added Var's interview on 11/03/10.

I removed xxhwx from our list because they are on the August Filers list. They refiled on 8/25/10 and new interview date is 11/02/10.

I figured out that Ariesgurl is Lhiz21 and since the Interview and Oath were same day, she should be in red as a US Citizen!

Are Jay&Nardi and YGETH89 still active in this thread?

I'm asking because they are both with the Washington, DC Field Office, and so is my wife. She filed about two months after them, on Sept. 20, and we are just trying to get a feel for the speed of the Washington office, i.e., whether the fact they haven't received interview appointments yet is a realistic expectation. My wife has some important travels coming up in the next few months and it would be good to have some realistic idea whether an upcoming interview might interfere with that. (I know, of course, that "realistic" and "USCIS" should not be mentioned in the same sentence. ) If anybody else has some experience regarding the usual time frames of this field office, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Jay&Nardi answered a PM I sent them on Sept 21 and they said no interview letter yet. YGETH89 hasn't given any updates since mid-August. You could try PM to both of them. Unfortunately, looks like many people who filed through the Texas Lockbox are having a longer wait. :(

We are still here and waiting for an interview appointment letter. We've actually been thinking about writing in to seek advice on how to check on our case status beyond the USCIS online and/or 800 number check.

We applied early under section 319(b), as I am being posted overseas, and we are scheduled to leave the country at the end of October and still no interview letter! As you can imagine, we're getting pretty anxious.

After applying in late July, we received our NOA and biometric appointment right away. It was scheduled for August 27, but we did an early walk-in in early August, and since then....nothing. USCIS website still says RFE, with the last action being the mailing of the biometric appointment in early August. There was also an online touch of our original petition (I-129F) sometime in early September, so it appears they have at least looked at our cae. Any suggestions on how we can get through to a live person who can actually help and offer something beyond "wait until you hear from us" and see if there is a way to speed things up??? Grateful for any advice.

Thanks, ELW and Jay&Nardi, for your prompt answer.

Jay&Nardi, if you filed under 319(b), I think you should make an InfoPass appointment now and explain the situation. They might be able to accommodate you, but there is very little time left until the end of October. Also, you can call the FBI at 304-625-5590 to find out when your biometrics check was forwarded to USCIS. (Have your A# ready when you call.) -- Good luck.

I guess we're in a somewhat different situation from most people because we do not want the interview to be set up too quickly. My wife has some important extended travel coming up and any interview before mid-January would likely wreak havoc with her schedule. Of course, if necessary she would have to request postponement of the interview, but we would want to avoid that if at all possible because it might create other scheduling problems for us down the road. Information we found on other boards seem to indicate that four to six months seems to be a normal time frame for the Washington office, which would suit us fine. Anything earlier or later might pose problems.

Thanks, everyone.
