Bring Fiance' Family for our wedding party?

Question, Does anyone know how to start the process to bring my fiance family for our wedding party? We plan on getting married Sept 9th and would like to bring them for the week of the wedding. & how long is this process? Thanks

If they already have tourist visas/passports they can travel to the US for your wedding.

If they don't---I'm not sure you'll be able to accomplish the application process to secure them a travel visa in less than two months before your wedding.

They dont have tourist visa, they have passports. So how can they get a tourist visa?

They must apply for Tourist Visas on their own merit. There is no USC sponsorship for tourist visas.  They will have to prove strong ties to their home country.

So his parents live in Kabul, Afghanistan. So they have to go to the embassy of the US to apply for a tourist visa? Can strong ties be.....having a couple of houses and lands and a good job?

It is hard to get visitor visas in Afghanistan. They denied those girls from Afghanistan that were coming to a robotics competition twice, and they got the visas because Trump read it on the news.

 

Anyway, they need to get a lot of documentation on strong ties to the country. Getting a visitor visa for Sept. 9 might be too soon. If they are wealthy, have good jobs, education, and property, it will be much easier than if they don't have anything. It is sad. 

 

I'd say they need to start the process as soon as possible. But maybe have a Plan B in place (like traveling there next year and having a second ceremony with her family) so that they don't get too sad if they are not able to get the visa.

Yes, totally understand. My fiance family does have strong ties back home with good jobs. Praying they can come. Once they fill the DS-160 they have to contact the embassy for an interview date?

You have to do everything in the same site. I haven't done it in a long time, but as I remember, first you fill out the form and pay the fee, once they receive the fee, you can schedule an appointment online.

I don't want to discourage you but Afghanistan has one of the highest visa refusal rate for B-visas. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Non-Immigrant-Statistics/RefusalRates/FY16.pdf

Only ~2100 people were able to get B visa last year. https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Non-Immigrant-Statistics/NIVDetailTables/FY16 NIV Detail Table.pdf

 

So make sure they do their best preparing for the visa interview but at the same time numbers don't lie, three out four B-visa applications get denied from Afghanistan. I hope everything goes well but don't get devastated if they get denied. US Embassy website should have all the necessary information how to make visa appointments and which paperwork to fill. They should definitely read those thoroughly first. Then, start collecting as much documentation as possible to prove their ties, property records, paychecks, bank statements, employment statements, travel bookings, etc. It usually helps it they had previous visas from other countries too. I would definitely try to make an appointment as soon as possible. That would also allow them extra time in case there is a delay in decision or if they request additional documents and such.

They had gotten a visa before from turkey. So idk if that'll be helpful?

Nope

 

Are any of them male?, you have left it very late, I doubt they could get though the process in that sort of time and then they would be looking at buying tickets at very short notice and very high prices.

 

Perhaps go back once you have AP  and have a celebration locally?
