***** Moving from K3 Progress Reports to CR-1 spousal visa forum for answers ****

Op, the K3 visa is obsolete; it was useful when the CR-1 spousal visa took 3+ years, but now they both take the same amount of time and the K3 gets closed at NVC stage.  Check out our Guides here for what documents you need and what to prepare, and then come back with any specific questions you have and we will be happy to help:

As Penguin said, the CR1 appears you best option since you plan on marrying in a month or so.  There is no immediate visa for a spouse as a CR1 takes anywhere from 12-24 months to get.  Another option would be not to get married in a month and file for a K1 which tends to be faster in getting your fiancé to the US, but it would upset you wedding plans as this visa generally takes 6-12 months.

Good Luck!

So you're saying that the fiancé visa takes less time , I'm trying to get more familiarized with this all knowing how bad the situation in Venezuela is right now I want to go with the more secure one thank you for your help

Here is the guide for the K1.  The main advantage to this visa is that is usually takes less time to get (~6-12 months) allowing the fiancé to enter the US once issued and get married within 90 days.  The downside is that the now foreign spouse has to adjust their status before they can start working (get an employment authorization card and green card) which requires additional forms and more fees.  The CR1 does the adjustment process up front which is why it takes longer, but the spouse enters the country with a green card.

Good Luck!

Yes, all going well the K1 fiance visa takes about half the time of the CR-1 spousal visa for you to be together in teh USA.  However, it is more expensive and the foreign spousa cannot work or travel for several months after entry to the USA.
