Welcome to first thread dedicated to  EP (electronic processing) filers going through NVC.

If processing by regular mail, head over to that thread.

Following text was created by dswheels76.

Please read everything below and refer to it throughout your NVC journey, whether this is your first month at NVC or your third. :bonk:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before posting questions, please read the wikiSaylin wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it ;)Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!
If you want to see a visual of the NVC process, please view Saylin's flowchart here.
Yes this thread was created by our great Queen Saylin and the knowledge is still going forward. This thread I pray stays alive and well as many who have gone through the process or still going can chime in and help and assist.
If you're wondering about time frames, look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page. Use it! I sure did during my process smile.png That means if you are on this thread WE expect you to have an up to date timeline.
And once you've got a case complete, please join the case complete/interview thread started by, Dwheels76 on (currently May 2017 thread),
Just wanted to make people aware of a change atNVC stage. For the following embassies, you are now required to upload your documents on CEAC, rather than the conventional mailing in, or even the email processing method:
BNS        FRN        HNK       MTL       RDJ         SYD
And your visa category is:
IR1          IR2          IR5          CR1        CR2        F1           F2A        F2B         F3           F4
Source:
https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html
It will be interesting to see how this affects processing times to case complete. I bet it will be even faster and more efficient than email processing. Hoping it works out for everyone who uses this going forward, as it now appears that it is not only an option, but a requirement for this stage of the NVC process for those 6 embassies.
Has anyone been able to see the upload tool on Ceac?
Awesome thread! Great idea starting a topic for EP. We may want to remove from the list the countries now required to upload their documents. NVC makes it sound like for those 6 embassies the only way to submit documents is by uploading them.
Currently talking to person at NVC who had NO IDEA about this change.  Literally, I'm on hold now b/c she went to go talk to supervisors.  She's very nice, just totally surprised about this as apparently they weren't given any guidance.  Stay tuned!
Looking forward to some great news !
Great idea. As it applies to new filers, I just created a thread for those filing via  the CEAC upload method.
AKD = Ashgabat, Turkmenistan
AMM = Amman, Jordan
BGH = Baghdad, Iraq
BNS = Buenos Aires, Argentina
DMS = Damascus, Syria
FRN = Frankfurt, Germany
MRV = Monrovia, Liberia
MTL = Montreal, Canada
PHP = Phnom Penh, Cambodia
RDJ = Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
SYD = Sydney, Australia
TGG = Tegucigalpa, Honduras
THT = Tashkent, Uzbekistan
NVC changed their process. Any new cases (assuming from May 1st), the following embassies can file using "Method 1: Email processing"
Method 1: Email processing required
If your NVC case number begins with one of the following prefixes:
  • AKD - Ashgabat, Turkmenistan
  • AMM - Amman, Jordan
  • BGH - Baghdad, Iraq (except I-730 petitions)
  • DMS - Damascus, Syria
  • GZO - Guangzhou, China
Scan and save your financial forms and evidence, supporting civil documents, and translations as a PDF file. Then send them to NVCelectronic@state.govas attachments to an email. Please type your case number in the subject line of the email. You can attach multiple PDFs to a single email, but each PDF can be no more than 5 MB (megabytes) in size. If you have more than one case number, use a different email message for each case. For more information, review our Document Scanning FAQs.
