Hi guys,

I'm from Spain, my fiance is from the US and on October 11th we sent the form I-129F by mail. They received it and we got an email confirming it, telling us our case number and the link where we could check our case status. As we are excited we've been checking it regularly and first our case was being checked, and last Thursday, November 10th, the status changed to approved, and that they would send us a notification saying what we have to do next. What worries me is that we haven't received anything by mail post, not NOA1, not NOA2. Once that we checked, the status said that the packet (before it was approved, so I guess it was NOA1) had been returned to USCIS, and they asked to give a correct address, so we gave them the US address where we plan to move in, my fiance's sister house, in Miami. They haven't received anything either and I wonder if not receiving this is an issue and will slow down the process to obtain the visa.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Something sounds amiss. You could continue messing around with the customer dis-service phone line. If you do, be sure to ask for a Tier 2 rep, in oder to hopefully receive more reliable information. Another option would be to make an InfoPass appointment at your local USCiS office, and hopefully get it resolved.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

When was your NOA2 approved and when did you give them the new address? :time:

It will take some time to receive the mail version of the NOA2. Did you originally give them an abroad address? Because they don't send NOA's abroad unfortunately.

For now, it will not delay you - but you'll need the copy later on.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

We changed our address on November 9th and our NOA2 was approved the day after, November 10th. As we both live in Spain, we put our Spanish address as we didn't know they didn't send NOA1/NOA2 abroad, but we changed it to an American address, so I assume they'll send them to the Miami address, right?

So now that we got approved by the USCIS, what's the next step? They'll send me over something to Spain by mail?

Regards.

You need to just make sure they send the NOA1 and NOA2 to the US address, as stated above, you will need them later on.

As for now your petition will make it's way to NVC to receive a case number and then be forwarded on to the embassy you listed on the I-129F.

So I would say by Monday-Tuesday you could start calling the NVC to see if they have your case number yet. You need that to be able to schedule medical, interview and such.

The case will now go to NVC to be assigned a case number (which you will receive at the US address, but you can also obtain it by calling), before it is forwarded to the embassy. From there, the process is embassy specific.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

My NOA1 was on Oct 11th, but nothing so far. My fiance called them to see, but they told us to wait for the approval (which apparently they are at Oct 11th dates today). But we didn't receive the NOA1 letter yet. Is this common?
