Well I dont think Im being selfish when I ask for something as small as a greencard for my husband, am I?

In August we received a potential interview waiver and was told to wait till they contacted us again. Here it is 4 months later and still nothing. I cant even make an inquiry on the USCIS website which says that we still fall withing the processing times. Im getting a little concerned because in February he will be here a year and he is planning to go home for about 20 days in the summer and I dont want him to have any issues.

Should I be concerned and should time pass us up what alternatives does he have?

From what I have seen on here. Potential interview waver cases can take a year from the date of the letter. Just because you got the letter does not mean it will be quicker. It all depends on each office that is dealing with the case. You will have to wait for an outcome.

Are you serious? 1 year for an adjustment? Are you sure. If thats the case what are my husbands options, I dont think he can just leave the country and not have issues.

Im wondering if making a info pass appt could help on making sure that he can leave and comeback with no issues.

No he can not just leave the country He needs the Ap card or the GC to return with out issues.

An info pass appt might help but not sure. California Offices are busy and things can take time.

We got an interview and only had the combo card about 2 months then were called for the GC interview. We are in a slow office.

I received the Interview Waiver letter in July and i've still not heard anything, my EAD expires in July so I MIGHT have to renew it if I don't hear anything by March time, I'm sure your letter like mine says it could take 6 months, well my 6 months will be up next month so I'll be trying to contact USCIS to see what the craic is.

Well we did get the combo card, but its only temporary and good just for a year. I have noticed that some of the people that were in the same filing month appear to have gotten their AOS approved so this leads me to question things. My husband needs to go back this summer for family matters and there are things that he must do to insure that he can come back, just we are getting more concerned on this adjustment. Im ready to just take a day off and go see what I can do to get this matter expedited (if possible).

I did however ask that he call USCIS and inquire about his status until we figure out whats really going on.

Since he has is AP card he can travel. Just make sure of Expire dates on the card.

I will talk to him tonight about this cause I want to make sure we catch this stuff before its too late. Hes working and establishing his life here and I want no interruptions. He still has a family that he helps out.

It is not unusual for interview waiver cases to take a year. If you look at my time line it took my husband almost a year to get his without any RFE's. Your combo card is good for a year and you can renew it if your AOS hasn't been approved by the time it gets ready to expire. Plenty of people have had to renew their combo card because it took over a year for AOS. He should have no problem traveling with his combo card, just make sure the airline he is traveling on is familiar with the EAD/AP card.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
