Potential Interview Waiver Case????

Hello Everyone,

After applying for AOS and waiting for more than 3 months to get the interview letter, we received a letter stating that "USCIS has identified your application as a potential interview waiver case". That's the good news, the bad news is "Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay to be approximately 6 months from the date of this letter"

Does it mean, we already waited for 3 months, plus 6 more = 9 months??

Does anybody received this notification? Could you tell in your experience what can I expect during the rest of this process and timeframe?

Thanks a lot.

Etc.

There is no timeframe, really. Seems like the six months are just an excuse for taking their sweet time to process the cases at the NBC. Some people get their GC approved within a couple of days or weeks after receiving the waiver letter, some wait substantially longer than six months. There is no telling unfortunately sad.png.

As for my personal experience, I got the GC approved about two months after receiving the letter, which came out to a total wait of eight months.

Good luck!

As the other reply states, green card processing is not an exact science. It could take anything from a few weeks to a few months. Maybe even longer than 6 months.. Some people wait a VERY long time. As long as you have your EAD/AP combo card at least you can work and travel. All you can do it be patient, for now! I received the same letter.

This^^

We filed end of March 2013. Received the waiver letter end of August. Still waiting at almost 12 months total. You might be luckier. Don't even consider any kind of "first come, first serve" policy. That is completely irrelevant and would imply logic.
