Everything requires credit, even buying a cell phone. What's an easy way to build credit? I know it's the internet but please refrain from being unhelpful. This is a ligitamate concern so treat it like it is and just answer respectfully and helpfully. Thank you.

Go to capitalone.com easy to apply and get. Also Bank of America site.

Also try those places for 90 days same as cash.

and http://www.creditcards.com/ is another great site.

Also there are some recent threads on building credit here on VJ iof you advance search it they may have even more.

If he does not get approved for a "real" credit card yet, which is likely without credit, you can get a secured credit card. Basically you deposit an amount, typically about $500, to guarantee payment for the card. This builds credit.

But I'd try to get a "real" credit card first.

You could also add him to one of your credit accounts, if you have good credit yourself AND you trust your husband not to ruin it for you. You can cut him off later, as soon as he secures his own independent regular credit card and gets some small loans going well.

Or have him get his own card with you as a cosigner - assumming you have decent score. That will start his credit, I started this way and my first card had $3k limit that I actually could do something with.
