ahn young ha sae yo.

Assuming you are filing a petition for your wife, since your I130 was approved, next step would be to file Form I1485. Make sure you read the instructions, as there are many forms to submit (i.e. Affidavit of Support, Medical Exam records, etc.).

Incorrect, an I-485 is never filed in a spousal visa case.

I must have missed that detail somewhere in his post. Where does it state that this case is a spousal visa case? Every case is different, but I ended up filiing the I130 and I1485 concurrently.

The OP's timeline indicates a spousal visa is being sought; plus, the first post was posted multiple times in the spousal visa forum (hence my admonition above about posting multiple times).

Filing an I-130 and an I-485 concurrently starts the Adjustment of Status process for a visa holder inside the US who holds a non-family based visa.

One glaring difference, people going through the Adjustment of Status process don't deal with the State Department or any of its apparatuses (e.g. the NVC). This thread is currently in the NVC forum as that is the process because the NVC phase of the process and beyond appears to be what the OP is inquiring about.

Well congratulations on the approval. Now you need to start reading up. You need to get yourself ready for NVC.

How long? NVC is saying 60 days to review each package so you are looking at another 2 to 4 months or more after you get case# and its taking 4 to 8 weeks to get petition to NVC and get case#.

Just read the NVC process Wiki here and prepare.

Hello, Can you please explain this statement in the approval notice to me pls:-

The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning (beneficiary) concering further immigrant visa processing steps.

Does it mean the beneficiary will be having an interview and what are the likely questions to be asked please? Pls kindly enlighten me more.

Thanks

You are a long way from interview questions read the NVC process and get ready for the next 4 to 6 months of your life at NVC.

If you want to read sample questions click on the guides and there are some sample questions. Everyone's case is different. And also go to your countries portal page and click on the Interview reviews and read up on what others have said about their interview experience at your embassy. That is more of value to you.

Bit for now you need to get prepared and be proactive about NVC. Come back and ask questions after you have read. We are here for you.

Let me ask just to clarify your wife is in her country correct?

Yes all immigrants (Beneficiaries) have to go through Consular interviews to get a Visa to travel to the US).

NVC will send email notice to the email address you put on the I-130. When you start calling NVC and when they assign case# they will ask for petitioner and beneficiaries emails address. This is how NVC communicates with us.

Have you read the NVC Process wiki that was given to you?

I am very sorry for jumping into this post but i am pretty new here and i don't really know how to use this page. My wife and i are getting so frustrated about this NVC thing regarding our (i130), the case number was given to us two weeks ago and since then they told us that they have sent us emails about the next process and instructions but my wife and i never received any email from them. We have called several times and they kept telling us that the email will be re-send or sent and that we should follow the instructions on the next process but we still didn't get anything. I called them again yesterday and a lady that i spoke with told me that it takes 3-5 days for us to get the email, i was so surprised cos since my wife has been calling them, nobody ever told her such. She called them again tonight and the person she spoke with said the email has been re-sent now and that she should have it by now. This is very annoying and its like playing games cos they have both my wife and i contact email and we still didn't get anything. Can i please get some comprehensive explanations on whats going on or has any had this kind of related issues with them and put me through please. Thanks so much

First off, have you confirmed that the email address they have for your case is correct? Are you sure it's not being sent to you?

If they gave you the invoice number along with the case number you can log into CEAC and begin with filling out the DS-261 which is a choice of agent. All the instructions for the NVC are online if you do a quick Google search. Check out the September 2014 NVC filers thread for more specific info.
