He went to GP already but they said he didnt need MMR but I told him unless he has a vaccine record showing the MMR in childhood he should get a booster....he had DTP and flu at GP.....dont want him to pay that silly amount at knightbridge when he will have time at GP before interview to get it done but didnt want him to feel pressured at Knightbridge

You don't seem to understand the form for AOS must be signed off by an approved physician. That can happen at Knightsbridge. Or you can get a free shot later at the GP and pay $$$ in the US to a doctor to sign off.

These are posts directly from the Visa Journey AOS forum. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of them.

All accounts state that a second medical is not needed if first medical was within a year however parts 1 and 2 need to be completed of I693 and this needs to be signed by a civil surgeon. We have attempted to contact a civil surgeon. There are none in our area. We have used the locator on the USCIS website. ALL of the ones listed are at least a two hour drive away from us. I have called ALL of them on the online list. An overwhelming number of them state they are no long conducting services for immigration and no longer civil surgeons. Of the four that said they were indeed still working as civil surgeons ALL four demanded that a new medical be preformed. NONE would transcribe vaccines onto the I693. ALL wanted around $300 for the medical."

I just try to warn people they could avoid this hassle by having all required shots signed off at Knightsbridge. A complete vaccination sheet from Knightsbridge can be used for AOS. A shot record from a British GP can't. All shots must be on ONE official government form and signed off by a US approved doctor.

To get it done at Knightbridge is going to cost 45 quid extra. To get it done in the after and approved in the USA is going to cost $150 - $300+. Which is the silliest amount?

If he gets it done at the GP after Knightsbridge have sent his vaccination records to the embassy, you might encounter problems getting them later transcribed on to the I-693 when you are AOSing. A lot of civil surgeons try and make you undergo the full medical again for high fees when it's not necessary.

If it were me I would bite the bullet and pay for it at Knightsbridge if the GP won't do it.

We booked a visa medical mid November and received the courtesy confirmation of booking email from Knightsbridge after that.

In the email, was a list of *what to bring*

I was triple checking stuff over this morning, with the November email they sent and the Visa Dr web site.

It is no longer 1 Passport pic, it is now 4. Any size British or US.

...Gotta be aware of little surprises! always check for up to date info, right before your appointment.

I'm glad I saw this. I am about to get photos for my UK police certificate. I will get a set of six instead of four so I have enough for the medical. That's quite a jump in quantity .... from one to four. i wonder why they need so many.

I'm glad I saw this. I am about to get photos for my UK police certificate. I will get a set of six instead of four so I have enough for the medical. That's quite a jump in quantity .... from one to four. i wonder why they need so many.

Maybe there are 4 separate forms and each one now needs a photo attached. That's all I can think of.

We should all ask why they need so many, when we attend for our medicals. Then perhaps they will eventually put the explanation on their website under "FAQs". Once they have done that, everyone can go and ask "Why so much?" when they give the price of the shots.

I can confirm that they took all four pictures when my wife went. We noticed that change on the website the day before she left. Thankfully she had extra that she intended to take to the interview. They also updated the site to say police certificate valid for twelve months instead of six for the medical.

I am booked in for 18th December, I hope I have a smooth ride.. Luckily I live in London so it will be a short Tube ride there.
