Philippines Embassy Interview and NVC "In Transit"

I received my case number from the NVC on Dec 7 2015. I went ahead and scheduled the interview a month later for January 7th 2016. Typically it takes only a few days for them to forward the case. However in my case it took them three weeks to finally send it to the embassy (maybe slow during holidays) and now it just says "in transit" it does not yet say "ready". However i have read different posts with conflicting info on this site. SOme say go ahead with the interview because the embassy has the file in their computer system (which they do cause i called them and they could access my case via the case number, and they were the ones that said I could set the interview). Does anyone have any experience with this? Do we go ahead with the interview or reschedule and wait till it says "ready"?

You can start processing there in the Philippines once you have your MNL# from NVC. Your case will be ready by the time you complete your medical. You can start scheduling and completing the steps interview and medical scheduling now.

(typically it takes about 2 weeks for NVC to get the case file to USEM) I would keep the interview date that you have. Odds are all will be fine for the interview. Of course rescheduling is totally your choice at this time, just don't think it is needed.

Psst! OP is already done with everything and is to the point of waiting for her interview date, just concerned her case file won't be there for the interview.

Hi. Are you applying for IR-1 visa? We also submitted the supporting docs 1st week of December 2015 (IR-1 visa) wondering how soon can we hear back from NVC.We already have the case number and invoice number. Is it possible to call the embassy and see if we can try and schedule an interview or better to wait for NVC to notify us?

 Nope, doesn't say they are done with everything else. :secret: Just states they're waiting for their interview and concerned the files will not be there when they go for the interview. I suggested to continue to complete all the other steps while waiting. It's your turn to get the beer. :pop:
