Assault weapon and assault by a firearm are two very different things. The threat of being hurt by an assault weapon is almost nonexistent yet harped on all the time by Anti-Gun crowd as the number one issue.

You forgot the assault part last time. I think you said casualty weapon so I assumed you meant weapon casualty.

Anyway assault weapons are probably out in front of Ebola still. I suppose that could change. I don't specifically worry about either. I am more generally concerned about the potential loss of life caused by irresponsible gun use and uncurable diseases. Among other things.

Yes, that's right. There were 8 fireworks related fatalities in the US in 2013 - most recent year I could find.

On the other hand, there are well over 30,000 firearms related deaths in this country every year.

And yet, NB claims that fireworks deaths outpace firearms deaths. Hence, he believes that 8 > 30,000.

I will remind him of this every chance I get.
