Hi all,

I'm a new member, but have been lurking around for ages. First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who uses and responds to questions on this site. You guys are amazing and I for one really, really appreciate your words that make this complex journey a little easier.

As for myself, I realize I must really be in the minority, when I started the process of applying for an SB-1 (returning residents) visa, I found it very difficult to find information, I guess not many people fall into this category. So therefore, I promise to post a detailed account of my experience soon(ish) in the hope I can somehow help someone else.

I had my second interview yesterday (13/01/14) and I was told my visa is approved!!! I checked status update in the middle of the night, fearing but prepared for the dreaded "AP". It just stated "Ready", I just checked now and it stated "ISSUED" !!! I'm shocked as you can imagine and praying, please God don't let it be a cruel joke.

As I've mentioned earlier I will post a detailed account of my experience.

Ok I think I'm going crazy, just re-checked still saying "ISSUED".

I would second the above, as you noticed it gets mentioned a lot but very little actual first hand reports.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Hi there,

Many congratulations on getting your SB 1 visa approved.

I would be applying for SB 1 visa this month and would really appreciate if you could answer two questions:

1. What reason did you provide for your extended stay outside of the USA?

2. How long did the entire process take?

3. For how long where you outside of the US?

4. Did they approve in the first interview itself or did you get to know about it in the second interview?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

KreeMoma
