I just got off the phone with USCIS customer service. I was told that the updated address status that I saw online is just a clerical thing. They updated their computer for some reason (possibly a typo on their end) and so it changed my status online.

I also mentioned that I couldn't check the processing times for the California Service Center because the Us Citizen Filing for Spouse was not listed. She said the times vary so much they can't keep up so they don't even post it. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but she did look it up for me right away.

Good news for anyone at the California Service Center is they are now processing applications from July, 11th 2012. She told me it would be a couple more weeks.

So that was quick. As stated in my previous post, I had just spoken to customer service this morning and tonight I get an e-mail that they are sending me a request for evidence. I hope I get the letter soon so I can find out what they need. The California service center is very close to me. More to follow....

i applied in late july through the california office and just got my approval on the 8th. haven;t heard from NVC yet but am so incredibly relieved and happy. 5 months was the waiting time USCIS gave me and it was just a couple weeks longer, so pretty close.

we filed at the end of june, got NOA1 at the very beginning of july, and got an RFE at the beginning of december. just today got an update saying they received our response to the RFE, and that our case got sent to CSC! so very hopeful that that means we'll be hearing something soon! (: it's funny how even the smallest updates can make your whole week seem better!

thank you! and you know, that's how we looked at the RFE, too - even though it's not technically good news, it means your case is being looked at, and if you get whatever documents they as for in quickly, they don't usually take too long in approving! lots of luck!
