What did your NOA2 say? Is it an approval or an RFE? All a NOA is, is a Notice of Action. If it is an approval, then congrats and refer to the k-1 guide and it will explain it. If it is an RFE or something else then you will need to explain so advice can be given.

Hey guys just got our NOA2, Can someone update me on what is the process from here on.

Thanks in advance for the help

Kind regards

Sean

Sean you don;t ring the consulate or anything like that. Your file will now be sent to NVC for a case number and then sent on to Sydney. Once it gets to SYdney usually 2 weeks there abouts your fiancee wikll get packet 3 in email with instructions of what you need to collect to be sent in to the US consulate ready for your interview. You need to get on to the consulate site now and download the forms for what you need 156, 156k DS-230 part 1 and 2 the instructions are all on there for you so you can be well prepared. You need to get your police report done if not already and medical but you may need your case number for that. some have changed since last year as I didn't need a case number for my medical.

Sean - first bit of advice-- if your fiancee hasn't already done so, apply for the National Police check with fingerprints. When my fiance applied they told him it could be up to 5 weeks to get it back. Also - has she done the medical exam with the approved panel doctors? That will need to be done as well.

So... here is where its going to go slow and fast all at once depending on how it plays out for you. My NOA2 was approved on 7/5/11....but it wasn't until I recieved the letter from the Department of State (NVC) on 23 July that I knew the NVC had it. The letter was dated 8 July 11 and postmarked on the envelope 20 Jul 11. And the NVC recording still said no case history. I had to speak to an operator to find out my case was forwarded to the Consulate in Sydney ELECTRONICALLY on 18 July 11. Yet, when I emailed on 25 July 11, the reply from Sydney was that they hadn't recieved it. (this email was before I called and spoke to NVC). I emailed again to Sydney and this evening 26 July 11 (27 July 11 in Syd) got the P3 email.

Once this P3 (packet 3) arrives, if your fiance has everything on the check list, she can sign the "read for interview" form, send her original or certified birth certificate AND a copy, a copy of the photo and biographical page of her passport, proof of your relationship, Police Certificate and Fingerprint repor (original and copy), medical report (original only), any prior marriage certificate and copies, any prior divorce orders and copies, any military records, I-134 (affidavit of support from you- original only and all supporting documentation), and 2 passport photos of herself along with Complete and return immediately to this office the enclosed form DS-230I, Immigrant Visa Application Part I, Biographic Data. We cannot process your case until this form is received.

2. Fill out two copies and sign forms DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Please refer to the attachment regarding the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). If your children will apply with you, two copies of forms DS-156 for each child must be completed in full, including photograph.

Form DS-156(K), Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application: All questions must be answered. Please do not sign this form. It is to be signed in front of the consular officer on the day of your interview.

Hope that helps! Just start getting ready... it should happen (I'm crossing my own fingers on this) fast!

Well as I am not sure how old you are as we are early 50's all the proof was sent in with 129f petition darl. My darling now husband did not send any bloody proof of us lol so we got RFE and I was in the US at the time and we were asked for pics of the 2 of us so I sent about 8 dated and written on the back where they were taken. 2 affidavits from close friends who knew and our pending marriage. They basically wanted evidence that we had met lol which my darling neglected to send in lol not funny at the time and they wanted proof he was a USC birth cert and so on. I also sent them a copy of our wedding invitation.

All that was supplied and we were approved 2 weeks later.

At your stage now Sean you should not have to give any more proof its just a matter of collecting all you need for packet 3 and send it in and then wait for your interview date. They will ask maybe how you met and where will you be living but they have all the evidence in front of them when they speak to you.
