They're going to have a hard time uncovering this coup plot though with all that "evidence" against him. Over a dozen weapons and Vasili Zaetsev's notes. Whooooo. Not exactly easy [or possible] to stage a coup using a knife or a toaster now is it Slim; which you have sworn can kill too.

It's also funny how you guys make it out as if the government will go out of control, when in reality coups occur from loony private citizens or groups with guns. Point in case - the OP. Must have missed that part during all your history quoting in the other thread.

I think you missed my point. This wasn't a "coup attmept" this was a murder. The so-called "coup" was only identified (and it looks like it was self-identified) after the murder and subsequent arrest interview.

The govt. didn't thwart anything.

My point was the man at the gun range was murdered - not because this guy had 12+ guns, notes on a Russian sniper, and alleged ties to "an organization" - but because he had one gun. ONE. The dozen or so at his house didn't make him more dangerous.

The story didn't say what type of gun he used to kill the other man, but it did point out one thing, and that is, he could've done this murder with a single-shot rifle or a shotgun used for duck hunting. The "common sense" legislation (banning everything but "sporting guns") some of you have been talking about on here lately wouldn't have prevented this murder.

Additionally, the "cache" of weapons at his house didn't make him any more dangerous.

Obviously you've missed all the coups in history but I'd expect that coming from a guy so focused on Australia being better than the rest of the world that he didn't even know the US and Somalia went a couple rounds back in the early '90s.
