Strange how I have never heard of such idiocy in Australia.

I want to know how the guy even keeps house with only 12 firearms? Mustn't have any children. I need that many just for concealed carry, one must accessorize, y'know. You need at least 4 just to shoot skeet. I just don't see how he can do it on only 12.

let's take a look at each one of these mentioned previously:

AK-47 - a favorite assualt rifle of terrorists and criminals the world over

--and probably in semi auto.

Bushmaster AR-15 - a high-powered assault rifle based on the M-16 the military uses

--high powered? not hardly, it's a 5.56mm bullet

Chinese SKS - a high-powered assault rifle that can easily be converted to fire in fully automatic mode like a machine gun

--good luck with that easily converted #######.

Hi-Point 45 - a cheap pistol capable of shooting .45cal bullets through car doors

--.45 cal bullets tend to do that.

Marlin 60 - a semiautomatic rifle that can be equipped to shoot a subsonic round making it hard for officers to locate

--it's a freaking .22 rifle. jeesh

Mosin-Nagant - the sniper rifle used by Vasili Zaetsev (who the alleged coup-plotter had notes on)

--zomg a sniper rifle - over 100 year old design too.

Mossberg 590 - a pump shotgun with a pistol grip and short barrel that is easily concealed under a coat or jacket

--no, it's not one with a pistol grip - the standard model didn't come with one.

Remington 700 - a high-powered rifle with sniper scope and bipod attached

--what's a "sniper scope" in the above? a 3x9 redfield?

Remington 870 - a pump shotgun that can be equipped with numerous aftermarket devices to make it more lethal

--whoopie. numerous aftermarket devices!

Remington 1187 - a semiautomatic shotgun used by police forces and SWAT teams

--and by duck hunters everywhere. so what?

Smith & Wesson 686 - a handgun that shoots magnum loads capable of penetrating body armor and helmets

--it's a .357, let's hype that last part of the sentence some more!

Winchester 94 - a high-powered rifle that can quickly shoot seven rounds

--a frigging 30-30, another design over 100 years old. and a lever action.

Charles!, I know that.. you know that, Gary and Shooter both know that.... but the sad fact is, the American public doesn't always know that and many of them read that ####### in the paper and say, "ZOMG! He must really be plotting to overthrow the government."

It's our job to educate people! Take them shooting - especially the young ones - introduce them to the "gun culture" and do your best to make believers out of those who won't believe. Keep up the good work here on VJ, too! They may not agree with us here in the forum, but at least they know who to call when the power goes out.

For my carry gun or sidearm, absolutely.

However, I like a little .22 for subsonic work if needed. Perfectly legal and just as lethal with the right application.
