It shouldn't take this long. You need to call both the USCIS and NVC and raise hell because they need to give you an explanation of why it's taking so long. Hopefully they haven't misplaced it.

I called USCIS and they said I have to use INFOPASS to go to local Field Office to find out the reason.

Should not they have information or NVC?

One of them should but if they both say they don't know, then you definitely need to make an Infopass appointment so you can yell at them in person. It's really beyond ridiculous that they wouldn't know where your case is at.

Yes Call your congressman!!! I had to wait a month before CSC send it to NVC. CSC usually sends the files in Bulk and usually it can be forever when they send yours. It's sitting in their MAILROOM!!! CALL your congressman!! This is not right it just sitting in their mailroom!!

Good Luck!!

It's very sad. CSC is very poor in sending files from their center to NVC. It has happened to another person. Later, the person found out that the files were sent to NRC (National Recored center).

Did you apply for K3 and CR1 or just CR1? Try speaking to the person who approved your case that person might have idea what he/she did to your file after approving it.

Good luck!

Hello there,

I just wonder if it's the same with K1 visa. Our case was already approved too and we've been calling NVC and the live operator said that we need to wait for 2-4weeks till they receive the case from USCIS. It's been 20days since we got our NOA2 hardcopy. :(

I wonder what's happening.

We got no choice but to wait I guess. Sorry to hear about your case too it's been 2months already and NVC hasn't got it yet. Let's just pray for the best to come.

Hope to hear news from you again.

I have a very similar situation. My wife's I-824 was approved on Dec 29, 2008. It is now May 7th. I waited patiently the full 90 days without calling or questioning thinking 90 days was normal. I called NVC every week for over a month now getting very little to no help. 1 week ago they suggested I send an email to NVCinquiry@state.gov. So I did. I have not heard from that. I called again yesterday, the operator suggested I call USCIS or keep waiting. So I will try calling them today when they open. Any other suggestions????

waiting: 4 months and 8 days :help:

I would say contact your state senator or congressman. Same thing happened to me and uscis still had my case. They never sent it to NVC. I too patiently waited for 4 months + and later my senators office inquired and found out that they never sent it! A week or so later, they sent it. So contact one of these offices or else you will wait for probably another 6 months!

I know this thread is very old and the VJ folks who originated or replied on this thread might not be around.

I have the similar situation. here. My I-130 was approved on 07/20 and USCIS still hasn't sent my approved case to NVC. I have been sending an email to my service center and they have been saying me that they have request my file (I don't know from where) and once received they will send it to NVC. I contacted my congressman, they have the same answer as USCIS. I don't know why is it taking this long to sent an approved case to NVC? It's already 2 months now. My case is current since June 2010.

My NVC Journey

10/12/10 –NVC received the file

10/15/10 -NVC case # generated

10/18/10 -Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC and also mailed the hard copy

10/26/10 - Called NVC and got the IIN

10/26/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/27/10 - AOS fee status shows "PAID"

10/27/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

10/30/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid immediately

10/30/10 - Received AOS fee bill and DS-3032 kit and also received the confirmation of receipt of DS-3032

11/04/10 - IV fee bill status shown as "paid"

11/04/10 - Sent IV package (next day delivery)

11/06/10 - Received IV instructions packet (packet 3) via email

11/08/10 - AOS entered into NVC system

11/16/10 - AOS was reviewed and OK'ed

11/18/10 - IV entered into NVC system

11/24/10 - IV package was reviewed and generated artificial RFE for missing photographs (which was actually submitted with the package)

11/26/10 - RFE response mailed out

11/29/10 - RFE response delivered to NVC

12/08/10 - RFE response entered into NVC system

12/15/10 - SIF :)

12/15/10 - Case Complete :)

01/03/11 - Interview date assigned for Feb 15 @ 1:30 PM

01/17/11 - Medical done ! Passed

01/25/11 - Re-scheduled the interview for Feb 1 @ 1:00 PM

02/01/11 - Interview @ 1:00 PM - Approved :)
