Went through initial pre-clearance fairly quickly, once I met the CO he brought me to secondary, where I had to wait 1hr and 15 mins to be seen, and nearly missed my flight, (4th last on the aircraft!) The "interview" was quick, and he told me that I have to get married in 90 days and that I can't leave once I adjust my status. So if I was to do it again, I'd go 4 hrs before the flight for sure. |

Going through the border in the USA was very smooth, was asked no further questions when I handed in my packet of documents. I was taken to a secondary room (which is normal) where they opened the documents, inputted some information into a computer, stamped my passport and sent me on my merry way to my new life in the USA with my beautiful wife. |

The process at the POE was pretty easy. They allowed me to jump the line and I didn't have to scan my passport at the machine kiosk (that's for the B1/B2s). Didn't have to wait long to see the CBP guy. He asked me who my fianncee was and then asked me how I knew her (Umm...she's my fiancee!) and when we were getting married. Got my fingerprints (only right hand) and photo taken. I was then asked to wait. I expected to be taken to a back room but after 10 minutes, another CBP officer came, stamped my passport, took the sealed envelope and that was that. Trolleys are free at LAX (at the international terminal at least). |
