Daniel & Samantha Atlanta 2021-09-06 No No - High He flew out of Barcelona on September 6th, 2021 with a layover in Atlanta as his first U.S. stop. He was the only person at the Atlanta customs with a Foreign passport, so was at the front of the line. After he showed his K1 visa, the customs officer called over an associate who took him into a separate room. This was an office that had 3 desks and 3 customs officers. The new officer took everything out of his unopened K1 packet, looked through it, told him that we had to be married by December 7th, wrote that date in his passport by the visa, and sent him on his way. No questions, but I think he did say "Congratulations". 2025-08-11

Chasunmee Y & B Detroit 2021-09-03 Yes,Passport Stamp - High (During COVID) DH and I arrived in the US at the same time. It was not clear which line to join. One person directed us to the USC line, and the person there directed us back to the foreign visitor line. All the confusion put us directly at the end of the line. I volunteered DH to translate for one of the officers, and due to that, we got to move ahead of some others. We also needed to change the visa type, CR1 to IR1, at the POE. While DH was in secondary he called me because the officer needed to ask me who told us we could change the type. I had to explain to the officer part of the law that states the automatic conversion after 2 years of marriage. Provided our marriage certificate as evidence and got the stamp. Officer escorted us to customs to write a declaration and to the area to recheck our luggage. We had waited so long (over 1hr) that the gate to leave customs was closed. DH didn’t receive and documents (although he said others had) and not sure if we were supposed to. DH felt the process was very rushed at the end because there were some serious issues in secondary being dealt with at the same time and it was very loud. 2021-10-15
