The interview was fairly straightforward. The following questions were asked: When did you meet? Where did you meet? When did you get engaged? How long were you in the US before? Did you overstay? Did you work while you were there? Why did you stay in Hong Kong? What does your husband do? Where does he live? How many people attended your wedding? For this last question, while answering I offered to show the pictures I had taken with me. But CO said its okay, no need to see them. That got me a little worried, but the next thing she said was that the visa is approved. I did a lot of overthinking on account of a lot of minor things. But none of those things mattered in the end. All I can tell my fellow aspirants, is that most of it is in our head. We are all trying to legally join our husbands and their intention is only to help us and eliminate fraud. As long as we are good with the documents, we should be okay. Good luck to all of you! God willing, you will all be joining spouses soon. | 2019-11-22

He entered on June 9th in the morning with me. As of todays date 7-28-22, no social security card yet but his GC was mailed to us this morning. This past Saturday Social Security sent him a letter that said they couldn’t issue him a SS# cuz DHS couldn’t verify his documents and on Monday we were notified that his GC was being produced so we’ll make another long trip to our SS office once he’s got his GC to hopefully have them fix whatever the problem is, DHS obviously verified his documents if they issued him a GC lol. The only immigration/legal obstacle we’ve run into since Sidd left India is this mess with getting him a SS#. He’s got a wonderful job that he absolutely loves & works for a guy that’s quickly become a great friend and mentor to him. | 2022-07-30

We were told it would be rescheduled once they received the medical report. New interview date set for April 14, 2022. After interviewed issued 221g white slip. Consulate sent an email about an hour after interview with questionnaire asking for details about employment. We spent 277 days in Administrative Processing. We submitted the requested questionnaire the same day as the interview and the Visa was approved on Jan 19, 2023. | 2024-01-17 |
