C & K K1 Dallas TX 2019-11-09 2019-11-12 2020-02-18 2019-12-09 2021-04-23 2021-04-23 Yes 2021-05-06 Received RFE regarding Acta de Nacimiento. Electronic alert on 2/18 and official letter with information about the RFE received in mail on 2/21. It asked for us to provide the Acta de Nacimiento and English translation (which we had included in our original petition). We resent another copy of the Acta + translation on 2/24 and received electronic receipt of RFE getting our response on 2/26. We received an update for "interview ready to be scheduled" on 4/30. Received electronic notice (email) that Interview had been scheduled on 3/18 and received official letter in the mail on 3/25 with interview date for 4/23/2021. I don't think our interview lasted more than 5-10 minutes... we were both a little confused leaving, but not going to complain. We brought all the documents and had basically two big folders with us and a photo album. The interviewer asked for my (USC) driver's license and my husband's passport and driver's license. He asked how my husband entered the country, if he complied with the K-1, and his last date of entry. He asked him when we got married and to see our marriage certificate. He asked if I was a U.S. citizen and then what joint assets we had together. We listed off a few things like joint bank account, credit cards, etc. and said we brought documents of other items like Sam's club membership, being users on my mom's phone bill, etc. He did not ask to see any other documents outside our IDs and the Marriage Certificate. Then he took my husband's finger prints and photo. Said he was doing a background check on us both. And then he was like "ok, you're done, you're approved." We received an email and case status updated on 4/23/2021 that evening saying that "Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed." On Friday, April 30, we received a call from the Officer informing us that my husband needed to return because his form wasn't signed. This was a bit odd because we have a copy of our original packet sent in and he definitely signed it. The Officer said that it could have been an error on their side where someone didn't put everything back in the right order. So he had to go through the "yes or no" questions on the i-485 form again, and ask my husband a few more repeating questions from the interview (when did you get married?). After that, he said he was officially approved and that my husband should receive his green card in 2-3 weeks. A few hours later we received and email and our case status officially updated to "new card being produced." Officially received Green Card in the mail on 5/06/21!! 2023-03-27
