Pretty standard visit, though a lot longer than I was expecting given some of the "in and out in 20 minutes" that I'd heard here...! (this is my last chance to partake in the national British pastime of "moaning" so please indulge me!)
10:30am appointment so left from Cardiff around 5:30am; parked at Westfield shopping centre near Shepherd's Bush, £6 to stay all day! If you set up an account with credit card it'll take payment automatically from your car number plate. Then got underground (1 x change) to Vauxhall.
Arrived at embassy 10:15am, security was a breeze but then we were all left queueing outside in the freezing cold for another 15-20 mins; could've done without that.
Only waited about 5 mins for first interview; asked to provide passport, birth cert, police cert, I-134 form; he asked for proof of my sponsor's earnings and luckily I'd got a copy of their recent tax return so all was fine. Fingerprints taken.

Had my K1 Visa interview today and it went very well and is so less stressful than what you may think, it was a breeze and it is all pretty much straight forward two discussions and bam approved.
Started off outside the embassy where the lady asked for me DS-160 and my passport, she then signed my DS-160 and handed it back to me and said to come back 30 minutes before 11:30 which I did after I spent that time hanging out at the nearby Waitrose around the corner.
Returned and went through security easily enough, through to another building where they asked for my DS-160 again and passport and put a little receipt with my number that is called forward on a screen and the two windows that I should sit by to wait to be called. 2 minutes aftertastes 11:30 schedule I was called up to a very friendly chap who asked for two passport pictures (US size) my birth certificate, name change document (surname was changed years ago) and affidavit for support. He asked how... read complete review

Arrived at 10am for a 10:30 appointment.
Guard outside asked to see DS160 and passport. Then went through th gate and was directed to a long queue. They were running late on 10am appointments so after about 10 mins queuing outside called all the 10am ones in where they joined a queue then 5 mins later called us 1030 appointments inside where we were held queuing for 15 minutes as the 10am ones had gone up late.
Showed the lady my passport and ds160 agin and was directed to the 1st floor in the lift had to get out go left and left again to sit near desks 20-21.
Waited about 20 mins got called to desk 24 where we I handed all my documents over 1 by 1, my medical wasn’t I. His file so he looked it up and had to go get it. Fingerprint machine wasn’t working so I had to wait for desk 20 to use that machine ( another 10 min wait) then after that waited again for 10 mins until I was called to desk 23 for interview.
She asked how we had met, when we ... read complete review

So we went really early for the interview so there was no line luckily. My US fiance was able to come inside with me to the embassy as he had brought his passport with him! We had only a 10 minute wait and then he was able to come up with me to the booth where a friendly lady asked us a few questions. They were easy, normal questions you'd ask a couple and then she approved us! When we left, there was a long line so we were lucky we had an early appointment!

Interview date: 17/12/18
I arrived at 11:00 for my 11:30 appointment. Was directed straight to the airport style security, and then into the embassy to queue for a reception desk where you will be given a sticker with a number on, and told to take the lift to the first floor, turn left and then left again. Took about 20 minutes to get through the security and queue for reception.
I sat for about 5 minutes before my number came up on the screen and I was directed to one of the booths. Very friendly officer asked me for - ds160, passport, 2 passport photos, birth certificate, police certificate, i-134 (i also handed over 4 payslips and letter from HR confirming annual income), and took my fingerprints. She asked me: have I ever been married before? Have I ever lived abroad for more than a year? She was super nice and was commenting on how different i looked on the photo on my police certificate to now and saying she liked my hair!
I took a se... read complete review
