My interview was at 7:30am. I arrived at the Consulate around 6:50am and was 2nd in line. I do also recommend lining up early to avoid having a longer waiting period inside. At 7:30am exactly, security let us in one at a time. First is passport check and they put a sticker on the back of the passport and I was also given a pink slip and a laminated sheet. Next is security check, very similar to airport screening. I did bring my cellphone in, they turned it off then gave me a sticker for when I come back to pick up my phone. After I was directed downstairs to wait and it was the opportunity to sort out my documents in the order as instructed on the laminated sheet. To the best of my recollection this was the order of documents that were applicable to me:
1) Passport
2) 2 passport photos
3) medical envelope
4) original birth certificate
5) original marriage certificate
6) original police certificate
7) original AOS
8) petitioner'... read complete review

I just had my interview this morning and am happy to share I received my visa! This forum really put me at ease so thank you to everyone who shared their experience. I can validate everything that people have said: the staff here are really friendly and it's a clear process once you get there. My appointment was for 8:30am, I arrived around 7:45am and I was #16 in line (they were at #4 when I got upstairs). They seemed to move pretty quickly but I was there for a solid two hours from start to finish.

A note for Canadians about Criminal Background Checks:
This is a relatively new change to the K-1 process. They no longer accept "normal" criminal background checks from your local police agency. You have to obtain a "Certified Criminal Record Check" through the RCMP, which includes finger prints (http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/steps-getting-a-certified-criminal-record... read complete review

It's been a week since my interview. I know a lot of folks have anxiety over this stage of the process (myself included) so I felt compelled to come on here and write a review. Reading other people's reviews helped relieve some of my pre-interview jitters so I hope my review can spread some positive vibes.

My interview time was 7:30 am. I arrived at 7 am and was 6th in line outside the consulate. (The line looked longer when I arrived because some people were waiting with their fiances). At 7:30 The began letting us in one by one.

First you will need to show your passport to enter. The person at the front desk will put a sticker on a passport and hand it back to you, along with a laminated sheet listing all the documents you need in a specific order & a number that you will be called by.

Next you will go through security, very similar to airport security. My purse went through an x-ray machine, and I walked through a metal detector. I... read complete review

Wow - what an experience! I hope this helps others.

My case was pretty straight forward but of course, like everyone, I was nervous and excited.

For those staying in hotels along Rene Levesque Bvld in downtown Montreal and flying into YUL - spend $10 (plus $6 for the card) and get a single day 747 BUS Transit pass at the airport! You can also get an unlimited 3 day pass for the price of two single rides. There are BLUE signs all over the place and directions on where to buy them with maps. I got a 3 day unlimited pass and you can travel up and down Rene Levesque Blvd as much as you want during your stay. It's way cheaper than the flat rate taxi's or an uber. The bus has luggage racks, too. It was stupidly easy. Just know where your hotel is first and which stop to get off of. You can Google the map before you even get to the airport but they have them available at the kiosks where you buy the card, too. I stayed at a hotel a literal 3 minute walk from the ... read complete review
