Recently had my K1 interview at the new Montreal consulate location at 1134 Rue Ste-Catherine.

My appointment was at 7:30 AM, and as per the new directions I showed up at 7:15. There were others who joined the line-up outside, but at 7:30 only those who actually had appointments scheduled for that time were admitted. Once inside, my passport was examined and my appointment confirmed and I was given a sheet of instructions about how to arrange my paperwork. At security, I had to remove my jacket, hat, gloves, scarf, and FitBit so that they could all be x-rayed (along with my papers). My FitBit was considered a "smart watch" and had to be checked -- they put it in a locker at security and gave me the key with instructions to pick it up when I was finished. Immediately after security is an elevator to take you to the 1st floor. Once upstairs, I waited about 20 minutes before my number was called to a window. Here I was asked, individually, for various papers and my passport. The lady was very nice and this didn't take long. Afterwards I was told to sit back down and that I'd be called again when the consular officer was ready for me. I waited another 10 minutes or so and then was called to another window. The lady here was also very nice and asked some questions about my military service, how I'd met my fiance, where he worked and what he did, etc. Next thing I knew she was telling me that she would be approving my application, and gave me some papers with visa info and how to track my passport. I then headed back downstairs, picked up my FitBit from security, and was out the door at 8:34 AM.

No problems with anyone or anything. Just be sure to follow consulate instructions and not being your phone, large bags, backpacks, etc.
