Hate to tell you, but they could repeal the ACA tomorrow and that part will still remain. They are called consumer driven health plans. Health insurance companies love them and they were trending that way long before the ACA. It's going to get worse whether the ACA remains or not.
That trend won't go away unless we get single payor or increased regulation of providers. I don't see either of those things coming soon.

I received notice a few days before the election that my provider was dropping my previous ridiculously expensive ACA compliant plan and poor coverage entirely. They would like to move us onto the next tier for an amount so high I literally broke down and wept on my husband's shoulder for comfort. We cannot afford it anymore, so if nothing better comes along in two months we'll be paying the penalty I guess and going without. No doubt I suspect a lot of people got the same letters. I wonder if it was a deciding factor in whom they voted for.
Repealing the ACA will not solve the problem, especially if there is no plan to fix it. I have seen a lot of talk about HSA from republicans and from someone who has dealt with the insurance industry.. that is the biggest joke. You know, if republicans were actually serious about fixing healthcare, a lot more people might be willing to vote for them.

No, kind of like Putin's government admitting they were in touch with the Trump campaign, that kind of maneuvering.
Did you not watch the news ?

Are you looking for more evidence that the actions and ideas of the KKK and other White Nationalists groups represent evil or should we treat your response as "meh, they are not such bad dudes"
I am honestly not able to read between your lines.

What I am gathering from this thread and conversations with friends and family is that the folks who are strongest voices against Obamacare:
1 Don't understand the majority of the law 2 Like many of the provisions of the law 3 would support a similar law if it had not been shoved down their throats by a President they don't respect.

you are partially correct, Hippa and a variety of other laws protected you from loosing coverage for preexisting conditions when you converted the policy and protected you from unreasonable rate increases. Exclusion of preexisting conditions was a standard policy clause to prevent folks from not buying coverage until they got sick. ACA overcame this limitation by forcing everyone to get coverage. Otherwise as they say only folks with burning houses would buy fire insurance.

Rob L got a reaction from Jacque67 in Donald Trump in the White House: Will He Bring Steve Bannon With Him?
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/10/us/politics/transition-briefing-passing-the-presidency-to-donald-trump.html
Bannon for Trump chief of staff?Steve Bannon, the conservative provocateur and Mr. Trump’s campaign chief, is now a leading candidate to become White House chief of staff, but he’d have to beat out another campaign veteran in the running, Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, according to two people with knowledge of the discussions.
Mr. Bannon, the executive chairman of the conservative website Breitbart News, who took a leave to help manage the final weeks of Mr. Trump’s campaign, is well liked among Mr. Trump’s circle of overlapping advisers, who see him as a favorable influence on the president-elect.
But Mr. Priebus is said to be viewed favorably by two people especially close to Mr. Trump: his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Priebus is personally close to both Speaker Paul D. Ryan and Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana, the vice president-elect, and he could serve as a helpful bridge to crucial elements of the Republican Party.
Continue reading the main story Corey Lewandowski, Mr. Trump’s first campaign manager, has also been mentioned for chief of staff, despite having been fired by the campaign in June. But Mr. Trump’s children, who feuded publicly with him during the campaign, may resist.
Two other names being discussed: Kellyanne Conway, Mr. Trump’s campaign manager, and David Bossie, a veteran conservative operative who became Mr. Trump’s deputy campaign manager.
The president and the president-elect.Mr. Trump, a man who once questioned the birthplace of the president, and Mr. Obama, who scorched Mr. Trump as unfit for the Oval Office, met the news media in that esteemed room, and at least for public consumption, let bygones and bygones.
Mr. Trump, who often labeled Mr. Obama the worst president in history during the campaign, this time called him a “very good man.”

But baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know, I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah -

Rob L reacted to Dakine10 in The Prof That Predicted Trump Sees Impeachment in the Future
Right now, there's more political risk to anyone in congress taking on Trump than it would be worth. They may not agree with him philosophically on some things, but it's not just the Democrats who got surprised by Trump. Most of the Republican party just finished getting schooled in what happens if you go against Trump as well. I don't see any of them ready to risk political suicide.
