maybe because they are disproportionately responsible for heinous crimes against the body? maybe because they engage in forms of ritual murder that most cultures forsook centuries ago? maybe it's because they hide their murderous impulses behind a false god? maybe it's because they display a total intolerance toward all non-muslims while simultaneously demanding that everyone else tolerate their outrageous behaviour?
maybe they earned the bad press. maybe not even chimpy can keep the heat off of them.

First, I'd like to say I'm not a religious person. Outside of what I learned as a child and what I've learned from speaking to others from different religious backgrounds, I've only had one class on world religions and one class on religious philosophy. I know some about a lot of religions, but I don't know a ton about any of them. I do think it's important to know/understand what's happened in the past, but right now we're talking about the present.
Why do you always bring up "bad" things Christians did a long time and compare them to things Muslim terrorists have done very recently? Are Christians actually still doing these same things today and I just don't know about it? From what I see, Muslim terrorists are doing things today that were "acceptable" or "normal" in Christianity a long f'ing time ago.
Can you explain to me why something Christians did a long time ago can be compared to something Muslim terrorists are doing today? It seems like Christianity has modernized for the most part, and the groups of Muslims who are doing these terrible things have not.

The body count for radical Islam is much higher than any other radical religion.

No I see you posted a story in which a man justified stoning another via his Biblical justification. It was a part of the story, thus relayed in the story. Much as religious affiliation is relayed in stories of abortion clinic doctor murders. Misguided Christianity makes the news when it is part of the news.
When the Fort Hood shooter yelled 'Allahu Akbar' and began shooting, his misguided version of Islam made the news.
Nobody cares if you are a Muslim. People do care if you are a Radical Islamist. There is a difference.

Taliban suicide bombers kill 42 at Pakistan shrine
42 dead, 100 more wounded in attack on one of country's most important Sufi Muslim shrine's Sunday

A Pakistani security official gets information from an injured suicide bomber at a shrine near Dera Ghazi Khan in Pakistan. (AP)
A pair of Taliban suicide bombers struck one of Pakistan's most important Sufi Muslim shrines on Sunday, killing 42 people and wounding 100 who were celebrating the anniversary of its founder's death with music, meditation and other practices abhorred by Islamist militant groups.
Another bomber was wounded when his explosive vest partially detonated. He was arrested along with a fourth militant who was seized before attacking, police official Ahmad Mubarak said.
The attack on the Sakhi Sarwar shrine ended a months-long respite in a relentless militant campaign against the shrines founded by ancient adherents of Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam that sees dancing, chanting and visiting holy sites as expressions of devotion to God. Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan called The Associated Press to claim responsibility for the assault.
"It was a huge blast. People were running in panic," said Fida Bakhsh, 42, a vendor outside the shrine. "It was horrible. We were running over bodies and blood."
Nineteen men, 14 women and nine children were killed, emergency coordinator Natiq Hayat said. Twenty of the wounded were in critical condition, he said.
From one-room tombs in small villages to large complexes in major cities, Sufi shrines are visited by millions of Pakistanis. The sites are anathema to the Pakistani Taliban, al-Qaida and other militant followers of the austere brand of Wahabi Islam that originated in Saudi Arabia.
Followers of the Barelvi school of Islam, one of the two main
of the religion in Pakistan, consider themselves the custodian of the shrines. They have been one of the main targets of Islamist militants since some of their leaders issued edict calling suicide bombings religiously illegitimate.
Several thousand people were marking the 942nd anniversary of the death of the saint Ahmad Sultan, better known as Sakhi Sarwar, at his shrine in the Dera Ghazi Khan district of Punjab province when the bombers struck crowds waiting outside, government administrator Iftikhar Saho said.
A stampede followed the bombings, but it was not immediately clear if that caused any casualties.
Local and foreign Islamist militants have carried out hundreds of attacks in Pakistan over the last three years, targeting government buildings and security forces, Western targets like embassies and hotels as well as religious minorities and Muslim sects they consider heretical.
An assault on the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, known as Data Sahib, killed 47 people in the city of Lahore in July. The attacks have angered many Pakistani Muslims, who see visiting saints' shrines as the best way to communicate to God.
The government and the army have tried to crack down on the militants, but have struggled to unite the nation against the threat and face persistent allegations they are protecting some extremists. Many Islamist politicians do not publicly criticize the militants, preferring to spread conspiracy theories that American or Indian agents are responsible. These views are widely aired, often uncritically, in some media.

Because there is a difference between 1 single incident of a religious nutcase/psychopath killing his friend because of sexual advances and a guy chopping off an evil American's head because he thinks he is going to be rewarded by Allah.
Ok, I take that back. They are both pretty much the same thing. The difference is 1 happens every 15 years and the other happens every 15 days.
Do you not see the difference?

Pretty much. Remember they (democrats) had majority in the House and Senate and have the White House when the FY 2011 budget was made (2010) yet they were unable to pass it, so people blaming the GOP really are clueless. They focused more on ammnesty for illegals than the budget...shows you where their priorities were.

People seem to keep forgetting that USCIS is only one step in the process...........
NVC and Consulate are under state department. SHOULD the government shut down, BOTH of those services would be rendered staffless.
Meaning everyone past USCIS would be in limbo.
Least we not forgot the 1995/1996 shutdown delayed 80,000 visas.

True, however, he could request a DNA test and if/when the test came back negative stating he is not the father, he wouldn't be liable.
Get a divorce asap. Try to document what happened and when. If you still have travel itineraries and tickets save them. You can use them in conjunction with what the doctor stated to prove you were not in the country at the time of conception.

Sergi, what's your timeline? Why not fill it in and contribute some actual information instead of speculation? Remember, some of us have been through the process before and are trying to suggest that after an unreasonable amount of time, contacting a Congressman is a good idea. My Congressman made 2 inquiries and followed up with me with phone calls. Well, his assistant did. I still remember her name because she was so thorough and dedicated to serving the Congressman's constituents.
You're free to believe what you want to believe. But don't speak like you are the voice of authority, telling people what to do about their weddings and how they should feel. That's just not cool.

A lot of ignorance in this thread, it is astounding.
I will just hold onto my letter from my Congresman that says "We have contacted USCIS on your behalf and would like to inform you that your case will be looked at within 7 days etcetc" and 3 days later, NOA2. So everytime someone here says "Don't contact your Senators or Congressman it slows things down", I will just look at this letter and laugh out loud.
PS: Love the cheapshot about Americans in this thread too. Civility for the win.

I agree things are a slow process right now...seem to be taking long. We filed in November and our application hasn't been touched since 11/16. We did have to postpone our wedding until further notice it was scheduled for mid-may, and I don't appreciate the rude comment about it being our fault. I understand people are advised not to plan these events until all is done, however, you must be married within three months of them arriving...do you know how hard it is to plan a real wedding in three months?! We've been planning ours for a year and half and still aren't finished even if it had gone off in May. So I'm sorry that comment was rude and it seems to be the same people that always have some "cocky" comment to make. I agree with the contacting your congressman, when you love someone you just want to be with them so you will go above and beyond to be with that person and do what it takes, otherwise none of us would be on here. I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with this stuff, it's no fun, but it'll all be worth it in the end. I wish everyonje the best of luck with things and hope to see most of you posting soon that YOU GOT YOUR APPROVALS:) I appreciate having this site to communicate with others who understand what I'm going through, it's been 5 months now since I've seen my fiancee and I'm going crazy here...as I'm sure most of you are as well. So hang in there everyone, we'll get through all this together. And for those with a negative/cocky answer for everything (you know who you are)...take it somewhere else, this is a positive place for all of us.

I like the idea of a congressional mandate that all user fee supported government services have a maximum turn around of somewhere between 2 and 3 months max. ..... and that the user fee cannot go up by more than 20% because of the changes.
(That is for major items. Minor items like CO FILED with AOS EAD and AP be approved in a time frame measured in weeks not months....cough Passports)
