  1. Ok, as of today, it has been 5 long months since we received our NOA1. I KNOW that Vermont is backlogged for like a month or so. Therefore, I keep in mind that it can take a couple more weeks til we'll receive our NOA2.

Because of the fact Vermont is backlogged, doesn't mean I can try to put in a service request. This is going to be the first time for me to put in a service request. Should I E-mail them every day, call them every day? til they get fed up with me and work on our case??

So, I am about to start E-mailing them, but somehow I see different E-mail addresses on "search". What is their correct E-mail address???

    Thank you in advance!!

Channah!... Attempt to put in a Service Request. They will deny it. Then write a letter to both of your Senators and your Congressman explaining your situation. Make sure you let them know about the Processing Chart on USCIS.gov and what it states about processing in less time than their goal, etc...

    Good luck!

  2. thats tough but totally worth it.

it would be easier if we were both in cairo that way a trip would only be 1000 and we already have an apartment there

i hope you have a fantastic trip.

Thank you! I am nervous about flyind. Not sure why, as I have flown numerous amounts of times, including by myself from Germany to Maryland at the age of 7, and from MD to Germany alone again at the age of 9, and back again at the age of 11. Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, etc... I mean literally so many times, but I have not flown since before the 2001 incident, I think that and the fear of airpockets is getting to me! Aaaaaahhh!!

  3. i was considering flying back to be there for the interview and then everything in Egypt went down and the embassy is closed. So I am in America and he is in Comoros. Plus, there is no us embassy in comoros, so he has to fly to madagascar. Flights to madagascar are like $2500 roundtrip, why does air travel have to be so expensive lol.

Yeah, it is expensive. I am paying $1330 to fly roundtrip. It will cost me another $250 to change the date of the return flight if the interview is sooner than expected.

  4. Yea just saying you will need it from your US Mailbox to you with your loved one :)

Our Congressman got our Inquiry about looking into our Case and send a Formal Letter through Snail Mail to my Fiance stating that they have inquired Vermont Service Center.

Tomorrow is also our 14 Day Service Request Frame Up and Due, which will give us another Run of HELLO DEAR TIER 2 Officer whats up with not workin on our Service Request.

Yeah.. I understood, I appreciate the concern. My family is good to me in the sense of getting me the information that I need. So as soon as it is mailed to my address in the U.S., my mother will be FedExing it to me A.S.A.P.

Good luck with your situation. We all know how it feels to be away from out loved ones. I just can't take it anymore, which is why I decided to fly to Moldova and spend the rest of the time with her there, waiting together (Much Easier).

I pray and hope that our interview will be held within this timeframe. She doesn't want to fly back alone, and we are hoping to fly back together of course.

Right now I have my ticket set for 90 days. If by any chance the interview is before this day, I will reschedule my flight for an earlier return with my SO by my side.

My departure flight is scheduled for April 14th! I am nervous, anxious, and every other emotion you could possibly imagine right now. It is taking its toll on me, but I know that as soon as I walk through those gates and see her face, wrap my arms around her, and finally kiss her... Everything will be perfect.

I hope that the rest of us also receive our NOA2's soon! If you are able to, I suggest flying to them... Not only will it be fantastic for the both of you, but it will also show your support at the interview, along with more evidence of a bonafide relationship.

Either way, good luck! Keep your head up, keep your hopes high, and don't ever give up! You WILL make it!

  5. Your I -134 is really important and 3 last pay stubs and your W 2.

Thank you, I am creating a list of things I need to bring with me.

    W-2? I am a Commissioned Agent, and I have never done my own taxes. I file a 1099, will I still receive a W-2?

Can you think of ANYTHING else that I need to bring with me?

and since I am a Commissioned Agent, I receive my paychecks from a business account, could I just request copies from my bank and provide those?

  6. So, I will have my Letter of Employment, which will be dated for April 13, 2010, since I am leaving April 14th, Do you think that this will present a problem?

Everything else that I will need will be mailed to my by my family.

Help me think of what else I will need. I will already be bringing...

    Copy of I-129F Package

Proof of ongoing relationship (Skype Video Snapshots, E-Mails, Cards & Physical Mail)

    - Of course I will have more evidence since I will be there with her for the amount of time it

    takes before the interview

    Letter of Employment

My plane ticket and supporting documentation (Itinerary, etc..)

What else can you think of?...

  7. wow VSC is at a complete standstill lately. :(

xlbLoOdlx, congrats ! I am myself flying to meet him (only for a few days)because that is all the time I can take off of work but if you can take off more time than that is great for you. As for the J1 make sure she does not fall under the 2 year Foreign Residence Requirement. If she does and the two years have not passed, she needs to apply for a waiver. I had to go through a similar ordeal with the J1 8 years ago. It's not fun. Here's a link with more info :

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/info/info_1296.html

Best of luck to you, enjoy the time you will be spending together and lets hope its a speedy return to the states.

Thank you! Congrats to you too. She does NOT fall under the requirement. I checked while she was still here. Clearly stated on her visa that she does not need to fulfill a 2 year requirement.

AND OH MY GOD, how much I will enjoy this time with her. I have the butterflies already and my flight isnt until April 4th.

I guess my last post didn't register... I am flying out to be with her for 90 days. I obviously will not be working during this time, but will still be employed. How will this affect the process?

  8. Yea Cardin's office cares at least. I sent a packet to Mikulski too and the ***** never even responded to my request.

Senator Cardin, Senator Glassman, and Congressman Harris ALL helped me. Senator Mikulski hasn't even responded. My Mother, whom also contacted her for help to try to get her sister over here never responded to her as well and told me not to hold my breath with her. I have never voted in my life, and I definitely will begin voting and WILL vote for the three people that took the time to help me in this stressful situation. A few emails and phone calls can go a long way for someone like me, and I will show my support to those people.

  9. I don't think abandoning J-1 will automatically disqualify her. Was she out of status after leaving her job? - or did she leave the country within the 30 day grace period that usually comes with the J-1?

She quit her job 6 weeks prior to the expiration of her J-1, which would have been September 11, 2010. She flew back home on September 7, 2010. So no, she was not out of status, and left 4 days before she had to. Only because her plane ticket was already made for that date.
