I have decided to fly to Moldova and spend the rest of the wait with my baby. Wish me luck!

So, I responded to this email with the processing times showing on the USCIS.gov website, and my extreme stress that I am experiencing, and... this is the response I got within minutes...
Dear Mr. X,
You are absolutely correct, and I just telephoned the Vermont Service Center to relay your concerns and emphasize Congressman Harris’ interest in the case. VSC officials are hoping to have the case completed by April 4. If no decision is made by then, Congressman Harris will then be able to request an immediate decision on the application.
Please keep me informed of the progress of your case, and I will be glad to contact VSC officials again after two weeks.
Sincerely,
Liz Lynskey
Congressman Harris

What is that ? Who send it to you ? your congressman ??
Yes. What the F is going on here. 5 months? May 5th? That's SEVEN FN months! I am absolutely FN furious right now. Their website still states under 5 months!

U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) electronic records reflect that the Petition for Alien Fiancé (e) (Form I-129F) (EACXXXXXXXXX) filed by the petitioner, Mr. X, was received by USCIS on October 4, 2010, and is currently pending adjudication at the Vermont Service Center (VSC).
The VSC is adjudicating Form I-129F petitions approximately five (5) months from receipt date listed on the petitioner’s receipt notice.
Please feel free to contact the VSC if your constituent has not received anything from USCIS by May 5, 2011.
Note: An application and/or petition are considered outside normal processing times (ONPT) when the receipt date of the form is:
More than 30 days past what is listed on the USCIS website for Processing Time Information; and,
The visa for that petition is currently available.

yeah and whats even better is how fast VSC responds to Congressional Inquiries, even when they give u a wait, at least u know when action is going to be taken
good luck
Oh man, reading this made my day twice as good! Thank you man!, and good luck to you too!

Today I received a letter from Senator Cardin with the Privacy Act form that I need to fill out and send back to them. I did fill it out immediately and faxed it to them. Man, it is good to have somebody taking action on my case!

"Dear Mr. X,
Thank you for requesting Congressman Harris’ assistance with an immigration matter. I wanted to let you know that Congressman Harris has contacted the Vermont Service Center office regarding your fiance’s case. I will immediately notify you as soon as a response is received.
Elizabeth (Liz) Lynskey
Special Assistant/Constituent Services Director
Congressman Andy Harris, MD (MD-01)

...
Oh man, this alone has made me so happy today. Dance with me!

Funny thing is, when I called last week I mentioned what it said on their Processing Times page which denoted "Posted February 14, 2011". I just checked it again, and guess what... "Posted March 14, 2011" AND it still says 5 Months. Wha?!

Yes!!! No NOA2 yet (of course) BUT I just got this note forwarded to me from my Congressman's office:
Good Afternoon, Ms. XXXXXX,
United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records reflect that the Petition for Alien Fiancé (e) (Form I-129F) was received on September X, 2010, and the Vermont Service Center is processing I-129F petitions within approximately 5 months. This case is outside normal processing times and I have approved the expeditious handling of the petition, accordingly. The petitioner should receive notification of action on the case, shortly.
Thank you,
VSC Congressional
So I should hear "SHORTLY"!!! Of course, the VSC's version of shortly could be in the year 2057 (wink wink Al), but I would say that's progress!
That is freakin sweet! I hope to receive the same thing. I will do a happy dance if I do! w00t w00t!

Update: Senator Glassman's secretary called me today... It was very nice to be contacted. It turns out that since it is something federal that I had to contact Senator Mikulski, Senator Cardin, and Congressman Harris (Whom I have already E-Mailed, but could not find a contact number for). She was pleasent and provided me with phone and fax numbers to all three! So just a couple minutes ago I sent my letter to all of them. Hopefully this will help the process speed up!

To us it went differently, they said they are contacting us within 2 Weeks,we were able to place a Service Request with a Tier 2 Officer right away and got a Confirmation nr !
I don't understand why I am not able to do this?!

Good morning VJers! So today I called again. I was told the same thing by the CSR... That they are 44 days behind. She told me there was nothing she could do. I requested to speak to an ISO. The ISO was very pleasent and basically told me the same thing. I asked if there was ANYTHING that we could do, and she was nice enough to place a request for an update on my case. To me, this is a lot better than just being told to wait another 44 days, granted that I still may. I feel better today, as I feel that I made a little bit of progress. One baby step is better than to remain crawling. Here is hoping to quick approvals for all of us over the 150 day mark! Good luck!

I am becoming desperate. This has to be the worst thing I have ever gone through. I really thought March 5th was going to be a spectacular day. My hopes have been crushed. This thread should be full of amazing posts of approvals by now. I am trying to contain myself, but it is becoming increasingly difficult.
-
Ok... What is an ISO. Walk me through this please on exactly what I should say and how I should act toward them... No response from my congressman or senator. Called USCIS last Monday, nothing yet. This is causing so much stress in my life. Please help me... I am two seconds away from just chewing their asses out. Should I just be totally horrible with them? Or kill them with kindness?
-
Well, I sent the letter to our Congressman Andy Harris on Sunday with no response as of yet. I literally just faxed the letter to Senator Glassman a few minutes ago. Wish me luck!

they really need to ban AL for his own safety and others sanity
10,000 screaming VJ members can't be wrong. I second that ban.

LOL - I had Tim, too!!! I wonder if it is a matter of calling several different times until reaching operator who is willing to elevate or put in a service request.
I worked in customer service for awhile - doing the whole phone drone thing - years ago and I know we were supposed to do everything to avoid elevating to our manager. But if the person was persistent - ie "I will not hang up until I speak to a supervisor" we put them through eventually.
What a coincidence! Damn it Tim, we want Service Requests! lol!...
This is stressful. A NOA2 would make life so much better right now.
-
EXACT same thing happened to me today. We must have goten the same guy.
The guy whom I spoke with was named Tim, and I thought that they were closed today?!

It`s been exactly 5 months(Oct 7, 2010) since we received our NOA1 from the California SC( phone text message. snail mail a week later) I called USCIS today and the call left me a little befuddled. I was told that I was still within the 5 month processing time. So they will give me a reason tomorrow ? I was told the date they are currently working on K-1 cases from Sept 16,2011. However the VJ time line says NOV 7, 2010. Is this normal ?
Your 5 months was up on March 5th, no the 7th... 150 days. Same timeline here. Already wrote the congressman. An October 6 filer was approved as of yester, e-mail received today. Hopefully we are right behind them!

I just faxed requests this morning to my Senator and Representative and in less than a day I am approved. I am not sure if they helped but that's the story I am sticking with.

I hope that the rest of the October filers get their approvals soon also. Keep up the good fight.

I have a general question... My SO was here on a J-1 visa when I met her. We wanted to spend all the time together that we could before she had to go back home. She ended up quitting her job six weeks prior to the expiration of her visa. Does this disqualify her from receving an approval on the K-1?
