As time passes, people get tired of waiting and service centers slow down and the tension is felt on these forums, I think. Nothing can really be done except trying to support each other.

Just because he has been through a lot of sh*t and he now is desperate to get his NOA2, he still doesn't have the right to use this Terror-Attack as an excuse.
When he apologized, (appology accepted), he was only talking about how much bad times he has been through, but not about the terror attack he first seems to be so worried about his fiancee's safety. It just doesn't make sense to me. First it was the Russian Airport Attack, and now he said it's just because of the things he went thru.
Though, OP, I am sorry you had to go thru all that. But seriously, next time, just say this straight away instead of using the Attack first. That's why a lot of members, also me, felt offended.

Well, it was only a matter of time before this thread took this turn. Unfortunately, simply congratulating someone (who never even asked for an expedite, so everything is completely out of their control) seems to be impossible.

I think the last thing this thread needs is the baiting of other users to respond.
Personally, I'm thankful to those who may have negative things to say but are keeping them to themselves.

Well, I'd at least give some credit to the laudable humanitarian effort of the US government to expedite all Haitian petitions

It's sad that you can't honestly feel happy for someone else. This says more about you than any petition or interview could.

Not sure about that. This is exactly what seems to be the trend of these service centers for all the months I've been watching them. Sometimes they're terribly slow, then they suddenly pick up the pace. I've seen it from California and I've seen it from Vermont. California will likely slow down eventually and then we'll see countless threads about that. Getting congress people involved certainly can't hurt, though.
Glad to VSC is on the upswing again.

It must be lovely going through life having all the answers. I'm not sure why I continue to entertain your posts. You will be here every day of your process, being as miserable as possible. I hope for your sake (and for the sake of the people on these forums) that you get your NOA2 before the five month mark. Good luck.
To the people who are waiting 5-6 months, I understand their anger. The anger and outrage from people at the 3 month mark will never make sense to me.

What exactly has been proven? This website proves nothing. It gives ideas and estimated dates, but there is no concrete proof of anything.

I'd like to address this point - and no LisaMarie this isn't personal, all right? It's a general statement to address the issue you raised.
I'm one of those people who have my husband here. For a long time now. We've been married over five years.
Now, when I first came to VisaJourney, I was actually looking for stories of couples. I wasn't looking for immigration advice at all. I had not even met my husband in person yet. We'd been talking online and on the telephone. I was looking for evidence, I guess, that a long distance relationship can work.
Fast forward six plus years. Here I still am on VisaJourney. To be honest, I'm mostly still here because I enjoy the social company. I don't contribute to the upper forums as much as I used too, but I do still like to help people when I can.
I guess it would be nice to think that all the people who are still waiting for their dreams to come true - that they could look at people like me as some sort of proof that well, it will happen one day. That they could say "my loved one will be here with me, we will be married and have a life". That the paperwork will be done and over with, and all just be a memory.
Because that's really how it works. That's why some of us tell you to chill out and breathe deep. Because some day this will just be part of your story. It will be part of what makes your couplehood different and unique.
I hope everybody figures this out someday.

The difference between a right and a privilege, from a legal perspective, is that a privilege is presumed not to exist unless granted by law, while a right is presumed to exist unless revoked by law. From a practical perspective, this means you don't have a privilege until you've asked for it and it's been granted or recognized, while you automatically have a right unless it's specifically been taken away from you.
You have the right to free speech, guaranteed in the US Constitution. You don't have to ask for this right to be granted. If you want to make your speech on my doorstep then that's a privilege you have to ask me for.
You have the right under the Constitution to live, to be free, and to own property. You don't need to ask for these rights to be granted, and the government needs to convince a judge that they have just cause before they can take any of these rights away from you.
If a US citizen had a right to allow their spouse or fiancee to immigrate then you wouldn't need to ask the government's permission for this. You should be able to just bring her here and she'd be allowed to stay unless the government intervened at some point and tried to take that right away from you. It doesn't work that way.
First, you have to submit a petition and prove you're eligible to submit that petition. If the government doesn't find any reason under the law to deny it, then they'll approve the petition. Next, your spouse or fiancee has to submit an application and interview for a visa. If the government doesn't find any reason to deny it, then they'll issue a visa. Depending on the type of visa involved, you may need to ask the government for permission to get a green card. Depending on how long you've been married, you may need to ask the government for permission to lift the conditions on that green card in two years. If your spouse wants to become a US citizen then they have to wait until they're eligible to apply, submit an application and take a test, and if the government doesn't find any reason to deny then they'll grant them citizenship.
The point is that all through this process you will be asking the US government for permission to complete the next step. If, at any point, they find a reason to say "no" then permission will be denied. In most cases, you won't even have a path to appeal the decision.
I don't see any way this could qualify as a right.
Curiously enough, you also have to ask the state government for permission to marry by applying for a marriage license. If they find you're not eligible then they'll say "no".

I think you are ridiculous. I can't help that. You knew that timelines are very flexible before you started the process, that's a well known fact. And I don't think you are only angry, I think you are desperate. Your married future is in their hands, accept it, because this Visa shouldn't be taken for granted. You have a no, yet you can get a yes. Depends on your case. And starting this excuse of the terrorist attack where many people got killed, you want to expedite your case... how selfish and pathetic that is. We all first think of the people that have died and their families, than worrying about "oh in that case, maybe I can ask for expediting my case"... I would say, get in line in this waiting game. Don't take this process for granted. And stop using lame excuses about Haitians, people are dying over there and your fiancee isn't... DUH!!!!

Seriously dude, you need to calm down. Does it suck that we have to wait so long on getting NOA2? Yes. Yes it does. I will hit 6 months on Saturday, and I know others who have waited even longer. We all knew it was going to be a long tough road, but guess what??? We CHOSE to do this. No one forced you to file for a K-1 visa. I completely understand missing your loved one, I haven't seen mine since October, and will not see him again until we get married (whenever that is) because it's so darn expensive to travel back and forth. So believe me, I feel your pain and frustration. But seriously. You need to calm down and remember that you're not the only person in the world. If all the people in war-torn countries, or places that had had terrorist attacks etc got expedites, there would be THOUSANDS more petitions that would "cut in line" before yours. So guess what? You'd still be in the same boat you are now. And speaking of boats, quit rocking this one and leave well enough alone. Kthxbai!

Ohhhhhhhh my gawwwwwwwd.... I'm not going to sugarcoat what I have to say to you AL, as you continue to offend our Government, it's people and foreign nationals who are in tragic situations!

Will you & YOUR BRIDE be booking flights thru that same airport you do not want her exposed to? Could you not comprehend how sensitive this subject is for many of us? Afterall, you did say, " Yesterday, January 24, there was a devastating terror attack in Domodedovo Airport in Moscow..........I do not want my bride to live in a country where there is an active terrorist group on the loose that made a mass strike in an airport she uses all of the time." Your'e right, I don't like your tactics; they're annoying & objectionable due to being a showoff and the only pursuit I see you have is attracting undue attention to oneself. You may not bathe in the luxury of what others think of you, but don't impose the rest of us to your junk either! Beneath anger is fear. What are you so afraid of?? Honestly, you sound like a 53yr old little boy who didn't get picked to play on the better team! Your last post? Good! Take your ball and go home!!! Come back when you get a postive attitude. And as for your closing statement, "happy now?"...... What do you think? By the way, your comment about our Military being expedited 'because they deserve it'? Even if we were offered such, my fiance, nor I, would take it because there are a bazillion other US CIVILIANS WE RESPECT and we will not cut in line to do as you say," Anything to cut this hideous delay by any amount of time, even by one day, is something I will do without doubt or hesitation of any kind."

All of your Topics, and most of your posts this past week have been notoriously obnoxious and wordy (imho). The only point I read, was the fact that you have been grossly obsessed with the TPS program and the Haitians! OK WE GET IT! You are against their expedited Visas! That was yesterday's news! Now what? This topic has been very offensive to many as I stated earlier. Isn't it strange that the only common denominator is you and your bride weaved throughout the fabic sending a message, "It's all about ME"?
Here is a picture of what I've seen today and why I found your post distasteful. THIS IS WHERE MY GROOM IS! This has been going on all week! Now please, leave it.
