Harsh_77 reacted to Peikko in Oprah has pulled the race card before .. just in time for a movie release in the past.
I have zero interest in Oprah and her doings, but is it possible to criticise the things people do without using pejorative language? It is very offputting to read 'pull the race card' every time a black person does something you do not agree with. There are many genuinely discriminatory actions that take place and to just dismiss it all as some kind of con job is unhelpful. Sure, criticise specific people for specific actions all you want but really, 'race card' every time? enough.

If during the process of AOS he has not overstayed there will be no ban but I am thinking he would still have hard time at POE as they would be able to see the denial which would tell them your spouse has the immigrant intent.
Personally, I don't think VWP is coming to US and then file for AOS in most cases there is already and intent of AOS even before ppl enter the country.

your friend's spouse has already muddied the water by entering as "single" - that is misrepresentation.
as for what the steps are to remedy this, i suggest you reread the previous posts. her best recourse is to go back to her home country, follow the proper process for cr-1, and both spouses stop trying shortcuts.

There's plenty of names thrown around in P&R or CT or whatever it's called. RWNJ, **, whatever. I don't know why anyone would want to censor things like that. It says alot about the poster. If people want to post things that make themselves look silly, why stop them? Those terms are usually thrown out there when the poster can't form an intelligent response in a political debate. If someone calls me a RWNJ or ** in a political debate, that signal's to me that person has lost the debate and only has personal insults left, so in my mind it's helpful.

Label it whatever you like. It's a simple fact that when governments start reducing the people's civil liberties, they don't usually do it all at once. The progressively do it hoping people wont notice. I personally have a problem with cops walking up to me and frisking me when I haven't done anything wrong, except walk down the street.

Harsh_77 reacted to aaron2020 in How to change status from student visa to permanent resident
Only marriage to a US citizen would allow him to get a green card.
His LPR father can file an I-130 for him. It's an F2b case - LPR parent petitioning an unmarried son or daughter over 21 years old. There is an 8 years wait in this category.
Your son would need to maintain his student visa or be legal in the US on some other visa for 8 years before he can get a green card through his father.
His father becoming a US citizen would shave a year off the wait.
If he goes out of status, he will not be able to get a green card. Make sure he stays legal.

The requirements depend on which state you live in. Usually, you can't have a driver's license if your I-94 is expired and you have to wait for your EAD or green card, whichever comes first.

I was in charge of the hang grenade range at Ft. Stewart during the run up for Desert storm. It was crazy . We were throwing grenades like crazy and none was counting pins vs live grenades on turn in. I could have easily walked off with a case of grenades.
Then i got to thinking about the long cold KS winters, and decided it was not worth the risk just for some cool redneck fishing devices.

Harsh_77 reacted to spookyturtle in Texas husband shoots 2 bank robbers that abducted him, his wife, police say
No way. Guns never deter crime, they only get used against their owner. The man should have let the robbers abduct and kill him and his wife. Why should he defend his family? The robbers may have just released them unharmed and he should not have acted just in case they did let them go. And if they didn't he should have let them subject himself and his wife to whatever abuse the criminals decided to inflict upon them. What right does a person have to defend themselves? Plus, he probably was looking for trouble and wanted to kill someone because the was carrying a gun. And we all know that the only reason these "gun nutters" carry is because they have small penises and they secretly hope to be able to shoot someone to compensate for their lack of manhood.

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk... Why you ain't Where you is What he drive Where he stay Where he work Who you be... And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. ;< /SPAN> And then I heard the father talk. Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of ####### coming out of your mouth. In fact, you will never get any kind of job making a decent living. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what?? And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics. I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2?? Where were you when he was 12?? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol?? And where is the father?? Or, who is his father? People putting their clothes on backward, isn't that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something? Or, are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up? These are the prob... have you ever heard the community leaders like Al or Jesse talk about fixing these things? They would be out on the street in full force to blame everyone and everything and cry racism.

PUBLIC SCHOOL ADVOCATE MATT DAMON ENROLLS KIDS IN PRIVATE SCHOOL
Actor Matt Damon is a strong supporter of America's public schools. Just two years ago, the star spoke passionately about the importance of public schools at a Washington DC "Save our Schools" rally. In fact, the actor is so impressed with public school teachers that he has demanded they receive a pay raise. That passion and conviction, however, does not apply to Damon's own children, who will notbe enrolled into the Los Angeles public school system. In an interview with the Guardian published Saturday, Damon revealed that he had just moved to Los Angeles from New York, but that he didn't "have a choice" when it came to putting his four daughters into private schools. The multi-millionaire did say that it was "a major moral dilemma" and then made the bizarre excuse that the public schools aren't "progressive" enough.
This would probably mark the first time anyone has ever complained that America's public schools, especially in Los Angeles, aren't left-wing enough.
The Guardian interview is part of the 42-year-old acto'rs promotional tour for his upcoming sci-fi tentpole "Elysium," which opens Friday.
According to early reviews, "Elysium" is a big-budget action film that condemns a future Los Angeles where the super-rich use their wealth and privilege to separate themselves and their families from the city's poor.

What do you do when USC wants their family to move to US with them right away... they are not willing to wait in line like everyone else.
If you would run numbers you will find most visa violators have either family or friends in US (which is required for support financially and otherwise)
The problem is we have too many violators until that number starts going down it would be very difficult to get that intention to immigrate changed.
