  1. Can I just ask, why you need the green card itself, if the stamp and the visa on your passport states that it can be your green card for a year,

I think you just need the SS number, pls enlighten me if I'm wrong on how I understand it ...... thank you very much.

I was thinking about that too....Passport has a stamped for CR1 validity, maybe they will also checked it if they call for an interview but yes needs SSS.....

  2. You can start applying however you can't work until you actually have those in hand.

Thanks for the respond. So it is just ok for them to wait till i get my GC and SSS even for a month? Does it means when they responded to my job application they can also call me for an interview?

They already emailed the itinerary e-ticket.My husband sent them an email requesting for the policy number to be able to download the policy for travel insurance but until now they haven't responded yet and friday is getting closer already for our flight. We tried to call on their toll free numbers and customer service numbers many times and we were put on hold forever for an hour. 8. Thank you to all the VJ members here who helped us all the way to the end of the filling up paper and giving informations and advises. I got visa approved without proving my USC husband's US domicile . It was really God's favor to us and answered prayer. To all out there who are filing DCF (CR-1). Here was our experience:

5:30 am - lined up on USE Manila (show appt. letter and ID).

6:00 am - Orientation what is not allowed to bring inside (Only USC have privilage to bring their CP inside)Went inside things were scanned; lined up to the window for number, give DS-230 1 & 2 and 2 pcs visa foto.

6:15 am - Finger scanning (nice american on window 16).

6:20 am - Pre - screener (asked was basic infos,1-864,BC,MC,CEMAR,NBI all original) She was so nice.

7:45 am - Pay to cashier.

8:20 am - called for final interview (with my USC husband inside)

Greeted each other. Nice gentleman Consul was nice also.

Were asked basic infos and typing it to the computer , not so many questions unlike the pre - screener.

He said my medical is ok and then everything looks ok. Your visa is approved. Welcome to America!

We thank him he said ok no problem.

Proving domicile was not asked thank God, but we have all the evidences though. It was the 1-864 he was checking, some wedding fotos and marriage docs. Hope this helps! :)

  9. Does It sounds like either way, enter the total income from 2009 W2 or enter the estimated or expected income this year and provide paystubs and cert employment? Here what it says on 1-864 #23:

Enter your current individual earned or retirement annualincome that you are using to meet the requirements of thisform and indicate the total on this line. You may include evidence supporting your claim about yourexpected income for the current year if you believe thatsubmitting this evidence will help you establish ability tomaintain sufficient income. You are not required to submitthis evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to doso by a Government official. For example, you may includea recent letter from your employer, showing your employer'saddress and telephone number, and indicating your annualsalary. You may also provide pay stub(s) showing yourincome for the previous six months. If your claimed incomeincludes alimony, child support, dividend or interest income,or income from any other source, you may also includeevidence of that income.

Enter your current individual earned or retirement annualincome that you are using to meet the requirements of thisform and indicate the total on this line.

    23. Current Individual Annual Income.

  10. My co-sponsor which is my brother,on his Current annual individual income on 1-864 is $106,000 and on his employment of certificate it is stated his annual base salary is $93,185 per year..Is that ok, the amount is not the same? He told me that on his employment cert it was base annual without overtime while on his 1-864 current annual individual was with overtime as it should be gross. I have all his paystubs . Pls help ...i hope this is not wrong because my interview is getting closer .....

  11. Currently annual income should be the income the sponsor expects to make this year. I don't know why his 'base' salary number is different from his stated annual income, maybe you could ask him.

I also don't know whether or not the difference is an issue.

Just to clarify - the letter of employment is not actually a requirement, neither are pay stubs, not sure if the COs in Manila usually ask for them.

    (2) Job Letters and Proof of Income .

Pay stub(s) showing income for the most recent 6 months and letters from all current employers are no longer required as initial evidence. The applicant, however, may submit either or both of these items (1) in response to a request for additional evidence (RFE), or (2) with a Form I-864 if the applicant believes doing so would help establish that the sponsor meets the governing income/assets threshold. If submitted, letters from current employers should show dates of employment, the nature of the job, wage s or salary earned, number of hours/weeks worked, and prospects for future employment and advancement. It should be sufficient for the employer to say that the employment is of indefinite duration or words of similar effect. Promises of future employment are not required.

Thanks trailmix, here in manila they usually show the paystubs. I emailed him and he said that it becomes $106,000 because it is gross income with all his overtimes and it will show on his paystubs, while on the certificate of emp. it was not included....i hope it will not have any problem....
