Hello Everyone,
Please, Kindly add me to the list. My information is clearly populated under my name. I wish everyone all the best as we journey through this last lap of our immigration journey.

Hi All...Sent in N-400 on Dec 5th received next day Dec 6th to Lewisville Tx. Applying based on married to a US citizen. Wish I had known about G1145. Also sent in cashier's check so no way to track the check either.
Sent the following items along with the application
1- Front and back copy of the Resident card (GC)
2 - Two photos taken as instructed
3 - Marriage license
4 - Passport copy of spouse (Inside cover and the one with the signature)
5 - Birth certificates of children
I believe that covers it all for the application based on being marrried to a US citizen ...Waiting game begins. Wish all of you luck!
Did you also include Tax transcripts for 3 years? Very important.

Hello Again Everyone,
The Part 11 section of the questions as per the instruction on USCIS site It says one should sign one's name in full and that it must be legible. My question is should I just sign my regular legal signature which is the combination of 2 of my names or I should print my full name again in the front of the signature? Many thanks.

Hello everyone!
So glad that we are all finally at this end of our immigration journey. I am about to send off my packet as well. Can anyone please clarify if the tax transcripts is sufficient as a proof of filing since that is what they seek out for in the first place or do I need to include other stuff? Also is it a must put the 2 passport size pics in a zip loc? Thank you all.

You can enter to the US from any US port of entry and have your visa validated. You can come in and go back the next mins but be aware of the fact that there is a certain number of months that you can stay outside the United states as a Permanent resident, my advice is not to stay beyond 6 months and hopefully the property would have been sold within the 6 months. All the best.

Okaso just because she came with a visa inspected by an immigration officer ahe can adjust ? Well if she really came on a visa waiver you can even look it up yourself she cant adjust or change status! I work as a legal secretary for immigration i know what im saying thats why i asked where shes from! But maybe she comfised her type of visa, but thats why i asked when you come in a bisa waiver you get a green i-94 card but then again i am not going to take your words serious i know what im talking about maybe she doesnt have a visa waier
I hear you legal secretary to the immigration. If truly you know exactly what you are talking about then you should know that any person married to a US citizen can adjust status under visa waiver programs cos he rule except them. You really need to do your home work very well.
-
One question where are you from? And a visa waiver ? If you came on a visa waiver theres no way you can adjust
You are absolutely wrong on this, you are as good as their lawyer LOL, only misleading the poor couple. Visa waiver folks can easily adjust. Be sure of what you are saying before putting it out in the public. These couple has been through a lot already than to be hearing another falsehood from you at this point LOL. Smile. Vanessa, Harpa and the rest of the guys did a justice to her situation already so they should be fine from now onward.

Your over stay or deportation from any country outside the United States has no bearing to the chance of you securing a visa to the United states paradventure it is not on the ground of criminality. US has a lot at the back of their hands than to be all bothered up with your other activities. However, honesty is the best policy. There is no point in lying and I will suggest to you that you should always seek a legal advice from the appropriate authority rather than getting help from unreliable source, the situation that got you to a point where you are currently at. Speak the truth always and it will set you free. Your activities in SA is a worthy course so I dont see any reason for you to wipe that off your traveling history. Please there is no point in lying. Keep it real and it will all work out for your good. A little lie may cause you a life time regret. God bless you.

Out of curiousity who did you use to ship the vehicle ? Always looking for a good deal to Nigeria from the LA area.
Bill of Lading cant be scanned. I ship vehicles to Lagos regularly. Its usually 3 pages original copies must be submitted at the delivery point in Lagos. Usually I use Grilmaldi, AES is also not bad cos most times they travel in the same ship just different agents. I never had issue with USPS express mail. It takes maximum of 7 days for it to be delivered paradventure without any issue and its trackable. It used to cost $38 buts its now about $45. I hope it helps.

Nothing odd about the message. Normally, the PCC from Nigeria is only valid for 3 months but it is good for one year in the Lagos Embassy system. So you are good to go if it is still within a year of original issuance in the Embassy system. I went through the same system that is how come I know this. Smile!
-
I just confirmed from another source for you. You are good to go. You dont have to get another set because what you have is not even 4 months old. Enjoy your interview!

I was in similar situation about 4 years ago. I am a Nigerian, went to school in Ghana and got married in Ghana. I guess your husband paid that much cos he didnt have his resident permit. It used to be $200 for those with no resident permit back in the day but I had one so I paid like $12 for it or 20 Ghana cedis. Oh yes, Ghana Police Cerificate doesnt have an expiration date. I think it is good for a year in Lagos Consulate System and that of Nigeria even though it says 3 months. They are both good for a year in their system. My case was a bit unique cos it was during my time that Accra Embassy was severely backlogged, I had to re route my case to Lagos and by the time I eventually had my interview both certificates were already 8 months old. I had another set done just in case but it was not needed as the young Man that worked on my documents before the proper interview was conducted told me not to worry cos the old one i had sent to NVC was still good for another 4 months in their system. Still check with the embassy since it has been almost 2 and a half years now but I am pretty sure he will be fine. If there is anything you should be more concerned about at this Juncture, it should be the Lagos Cert and not Ghana Cert cos that doesnt have an expiration date. It is absolutely ridiculous to go spend another $300 that I am 100% positive not needed. I hope it helps! Best of luck in your up coming interview.

Nigeria is not as strict as that of US regarding visas. As long and you follow the rules you guys will be just fine. A lot of folks accompanied my wife during our wedding as well, from US , Canada and Japan with no issues. It is ok to tell the immigration folks that they will be attending your wedding but make sure you include the wedding invitation cards when submitting the documents to the Nigeria embassy here in the US. I am not too sure what state you reside in but I recommend Atlanta consulate, they are very fast and efficient. You can get the visa back in hand in as little as 48hrs! . You may want to give them a shot. In a related development, There is a class of visa known as " Nigerwife Visa" This class of visa will enable you to visit Nigeria unlimited number of time. When you get to Nigeria, let your hubby handle this for you, you guys may go to the immigration office in Nigeria for guidiance so to answer your question, Yes, the visa does exist. Smile! Congratulations in advance!

We were married 2008. She was living in Japan at the time whilst I was trying to complete my university education in Ghana. Visited her in Japan between January and Februrary 2009. We didnt get to see each other again until January 2011 almost 2 years apart. It was emotionally terrible to say the least. The reason being that she returned to the US, had to find a job coupled with the craziness in Ghana about immigrant visas backlogged back then. But to the glory of God we made it through, been here for almost 2 years now.

I just got my wife a Nigeria visa, really painless. We sent it off on Monday and got it back on Wednesday and I didnt expedite it and didnt use any visa travel agent either. Went on their website and follow the instructions. The following was what I did. Wrote a letter of invitation, stating the reason which is to attend my mother's funeral ceremony, Paid $160 for the visa fee, money order for $30 representing consular fee, return stamped envelop, one 1 passport pic size of her,her US passport, Itenerary, copy of my passport bio data page and a copy of my green card and that was it. Lastly, I sent it USPS priority with tracking number and I got it within 48hours. Follow this link:http://nigeria-consulate-atl.org/site/?page_id=54
All the best.

Tell your husband to be at peace cos 2 weeks is more than enough to get his medicals done. I did mine with Komorass back then which only requires 2 visits. But its mostly done at Ikoyi now and not much of a difference from what I have been made to understand on here. HE should just get into it ASAP. Smile!
-
I completely understand but ensure you arrive on a difinite decision soonest as to move to the next level. We couldnt do a DCF cos my wife couldnt afford to stay more than 2 weeks out of job. Keep me posted.

Stop complicating matter for yourself dear friend and file through Lagos if you arent so positive about filing through Ghana. With prayers, Lagos will save you all the trouble. Worry less, it is not that difficult. Channel this energy by gathering all the evidence of on going relationship for the petition. A lot of things have changed about DCF even if not you are still not qualified to file unless you have lived in that country for at least 6 months as a Legal resident. Your husband is a Nigerian so you guys should go that path. Best of luck.
-
If I were you I will still go with all the evidence of an on going relationship. I recently read about a couple that had a 2nd interview at the same embassy and were told the same thing but they still denied the visa. It may be a good sign that they asked him to come only with the passport but dont take any chances since it wont hurt by you going over there with the docs. All the best.
-
No problem. I will keep you both in my prayers. Everything will work out fine by God's grace. Take a lot of pictures together and with some family members of your husband. I guess you should file through Lagos, Nigeria but it will cost you a one time fee of $200 if not a little more now for Ghana police character certificate as a non- Resident as against $15 as a Resident which was what I paid then cos I had my residency there as a student. The certificate can be obtained at Sankara Police HQ in Accra so include that in your future budget. That is all that he will need out of Ghana. Olomi also made an important statement, Ensure you meet the minimum poverty requirement or else you may have to look for a Joint sponsor. Feel free to contact me anytime.

I had made mention of having babies to further strenghten you guys visa approval as one of the valid evidences of a REAL and Valid relationship and not suggesting that you do it for immigration purposes. As a Nigerian, I am quite aware of the fact that we treasure kids and I knew for a fact that your husband will want one LOL. Yeah, Ghana used to be extremely slow infact I was a victim of the backlogged 2 years ago, I had to switch it over to Nigeria after waiting forever to have an interview in Ghana cos I was originally scheduled to have my interview done in Ghana. There is a wealth of information on this site so you will be learning a lot throughout your visa journey. I think the only thing that is slow now in Ghana is the collection of the visa after the approval, they are currently backlogged on that one LOL A month to a month an a half wait to collect the visa but I guess that is better than to wait for almost 2 years to get interviewed after the close of the case at the NVC level, that was how bad it was back then. Talking about the issues regarding your ex that I had mention in the previous comment, They will surely ask your hubby why your ex left and so on or even asked you to be there to answer to the allegations even though generally you arent allowed to be present during the interview but in your own case if your would be consular officer is not fully convinced of your husband explanations during the interview you may be requested to show up so everything will be asked during the interview and not before or after but may sure you front load your petition since you have so much evidences already. Smile!

First of all congratulations on your marriage, may your new home be blessed. In another development, No pain, no gain. I am highly positive that a lot of lessons has been learnt from your previous relationship. You do have a couple of red flags, the age thing and the ex saga but still not impossible to get through it. It is a good thing that you have been spending a lot of time with your now husband, that will really lessen the reg flags on your ex issues but must be super prepare to answer to all the allegations he levelled against you to the immigration department because it will surely haunt you but with God on your side everything will be alright cos God is a God of judgement. Talking about the age, I really do not know where you guys stand about having a baby or babies but as An African , A Nigerian as a matter of fact, Kids are very important to us. I will advice that you guys should start working on getting pregnant because that would go a long way in helping him to secure the visa. At 42, the chance of having a baby gets slimmer each passing day. With you guys having a baby to also show during the interview and with enormous proof of on going relationship evidences, I sincerely believe you will surely overcome most of the red flags. One of my friends was in a similar situation a couple of years ago but during the adjustment interview here in the US infact she was 44 and my friend was 34 at the time, they were there with their little boy and the officer just asked if the baby was btw them and that was the end of the interview regardless of their red flags they got approved. Every case is different but we can always relate anything to our situations. You have done so well by spending more time with him over the years. Talking about his residency in Ghana, Does he have his own business or schooling in Ghana? I will be able to help him out with the residency process in Ghana if hes doing either of the 2. I lived in Ghana for almost 7 years and I am also a Nigerian. Feel free to PM me anytime should you need further clarifications. Stay blessed.
-
Was in a similar situation a couple of years ago but the only different is that I was there legally as a Nigerian. He is not living in Ghana illegally courtesy of Ecowas treaty which allows member states to move freely in all the countries, however he is a non documented alien, that is more appropriate to his situation. He surely needs a resident permit in order to have a successful interview in Ghana. If his business is legal and already registered in Ghana then it wont be a problem to get the resident permit. Its easier to get it when you have a legitimate stuff that you are doing in Ghana such as: schooling, Working e.t.c. He can get it within a week all things being equal. But if he has something up his sleeves then he will have diffuculty getting through it. I lived in Ghana for 6 years so I know quite a lot about the processes. If the petition is yet to arrive in Ghana even if it has already arrived in Ghana, you can still have it re-routed to Nigeria to avoid some unnecessary dramas, that will only set u back for a couple of weeks but it is better than to have the whole thing denied. You will only have to pay for police clearance as an undocumented alien for $200 as oppose to paying $20 or less as a legal resident. The difference is clear but that is the way it is over there. PM me should u need more clarifications as I will be happy to help out! Smile!

I am so sorry. That really sucks. You may be lucky to pull through like I did. I had made a mistake as well regarding the check. I forgot to put a complete name of Department of Homeland Security. I sent it off before I realized my mistakes. All I did was to pray and God surely answered that prayer because the check was cashed 2 days later with no problem. Hopefully you will get lucky as well. God bless you. If the address is ok the adjudicator may have mercy and just let it slide.
