  1. Jenn and Nick I can only imagine how frustrated you feel right now. I wish there was something we could say or do that would make you feel better but unfortunately you expect to hear a good word from USCIS and not from us. I wish you guys an approval as soon a possible and who knows maybe NOA2 is in the mailbox as we speak, been trough NVC and when you call it could be forwarded to the consulate.

Yes the whole process if very dicouraging and painfull for both sides. It really tests the strenght of the people in it as well as the feelings. Erik says that if anyone is going trough this process and don't plan a future together forever is Nuts. It is really frustrating knowing your entire future depends on some paperwork, depends on people you don't know, and you can't control it in any way.

Wish you good luck and hopefully NOA2 is already on its way.

Ellie,I see you got out of AP. This is great news. CONGRATULATIONS :dance::dance: Now the flow shouldn't be interrupted anymore and soon you will be with your David in sunny Florida and all this will seem like a bad dream. Good luck further.:thumbs::thumbs:

  2. Posting the same txt twice because it's too long to explain again. :(

A little update. It has gotten even worse. The official letter our attorney sent us (the one from USCIS stating the change of the my last name) has my first name wrong. He is saying that this won't matter because the only thing that is important is the NOA2 and my first name is correct in it. I couldn't call the embassy because I was waiting for the letter so now I still don't know if we are good or not. My fiance called the National Customer Service Centre just to make sure the last name is corrected and they said they will send him a paper copy for confirmation. Seriously doubt it will get there on time for my interview.

And because this is not bad enough I also found mistakeS in the Affidavid of Support. It says my finace is living in Germany instead of USA (he is born there), and my name is spelled wrong in 2 places (not even the same mistake). My SO sent me another Affidavid today and hopefully in time for the interview. He has never been very carefull with documents and he just trusted too much the attorney to check the information and he just sent it to me. I was so upset with both of them. :bonk: I don't know if he is incompetent or his employees are but all in all they made mistakes (lots of them). I surely hope that everything will be ok but I am so nervous right now.

    Wish us good luck.

moniaaa007, Ellie is right. All the consulates have different requirements. We don't have packet 4 and we can't book medical before knowing the interview date (the medical is good for only one month). Just call and ask them. It will do no harm. Wish you all the best and most of all speedy journey

  4. Hello Mike & Miche. Thank you for the good words. Our attorney contacted me and said that he fixed the problem back in December. Apparently my name was wrong on NOA1 too (i didn't know that). I guess that's why we had touch in December. Anyway he said he will send me the document showing them acknowledging the correct spelling. I have no idea why they misspelled it wrong again on NOA2. I hope this won't cause any problems with the interview. Wish me luck

In order to find out the dates NVC received and sent your file to the consulate you have to call them at this number 603 334-0700. We waited a week after the e-mail from CRIS before we called. Actually I called them trough my computer (voip). It took like 5 minutes. You need your case number, and the birthdates of you and your fiance(e). They told me when it was sent and I asked them when it was recieved by them. I was so happy they've sent it so fast that I forgot to ask about our new case number and tracking number for DHL. I was able to find an old thread here in VJ that explain how to track the package from NVC to the consulate. (the trick with EXP MM/DD/YYYYA ). That was all. 2 days later I received packet 3.

Good luck to all of you :)

  5. Our attorney e-mailed me that he fixed the problem back in December. Apparently my name was wrong on NOA1 too. They sent him letter acknowledging the correct spelling. Probably that's why we had a touch on 12/29/08. I just don't understand if they acknowledge that how can they do the same mistake again with the NOA2.

The attorney said that it won't be problem for the interview but I still have my doubts. If they spelled it incorrectly on the NOA2 maybe they did it with some of the other documents sent to the consulate. Oh well. I guess I will see in 9 days.

    Wish me good luck

  6. Hello everyone. It has been quiet here. I just wanted to share a bit of bad news with you. Today we found out that my name was misspelled on the NOA2. its a little error (just added extra O to my last name) but I know how bad it is to have a wrong name on the approval. We are really upset right now and don't really know what to do. My fiancee didn't noticed it, neither our attorney. Apparently it was misspelled on NOA1 too and my fiancee told the attorney about it and he said he will fix it. Well he didn't. My interview is in 9 days and I have no idea how to deal with this problem. It's Saturday so we can't do much till Monday. I know we tehnically don't need the NOA2 till the AOS process but there is a chance my name might be misspelled in some of the documents they sent to the consulate. No way of knowing for sure. I can only hope this can be solved quickly but don't want to raise my hopes too high. If any of you have an idea or suggestion please feel free to share it.

It was too good to be true with no problems so far. When we thought everything was going smoothly this came up. Well we can only hope for a solution soon.

    Keeping fingers crossed.

  7. Thank you very much for the quick response. Unfortunately we have to wait till monday to call and see what is going to happen. I am really uspet right now. When you think everything is going well and something goes wrong. I can't believe we didn't catch it earlier but no point of blaming ourselves and just focusing on fixing the problem.

  8. Thank you. Keeping fingers crossed. Only 13 days to go. :)

Did you include a "fifty" in your petition? You know, to help grease the wheels...

    (j/k)

No not really. I am sure most people would love it if money could speed up the process. Unfortunatelly we all know that is not the case. :) We are all in the mercy of USCIS and US government praying for them to work faster

  9. CONGRATULATIONS Mike & Miche :dance::dance::dance:

The way you got your NOA2 is so wonderful. For most of the people in this tread it came when couples were together. The magic worked for you too :)

Wish you tons of luck for the rest of the journey and very soon reuninon with your love one.

Yes it has been very quiet here lately. Everyone is getting ready with the next steps I guess. Yesterday I bought a plane ticket. I know I have to wait for the visa in hand but it was a great deal and I couldn't resist it. I bought the ticket directly from the airline website and they had an option for youth (25 under- i am almost there :)). This was the first time i've seen such sale but it drop down my ticket with $220 so hey I am not complaining.

Jenn and Nick, juleali hang in there. The week is not over yet. Your NOA2's are around the corner. Keeping fingers crossed for you guys. Good luck :thumbs::thumbs:
