Yes you will need the I-134 for the interview. If you use the form here on VJ it doesn't have to be notarized. As an addition to the form you need to present supporting evidence of the info in the Affidavit such as:

- tax returns

- W2's

- recent paystubs

- employer letter

No Erik was not allowed to be with me because the reviewing of the documents takes place right after the passport check.

We've looked trough the requirements for the drivers licence and there is something that bothers me. The web site for the DMV says that if i am not a resident they will issue the license only for the lenght of my visa (3 months). I am thinking they do this so illegals can't get license but it still sucks. I do have SSN so that is not a problem. Oh and I will watch out for you on the roads )))

@Jenn and Nick I am really sorry that you have no progress with the petiton yet. I don't know what are they thinking. I still don't believe any of the employees of the service centers realizes how important their job is and that they hold in their hand the lives of two people. Yes I think you might have to get another employer letter. For what i've read the information has to be updated so you might want to play safe and just get a new one. Depending on how long it takes to get it you might want to wait for the approval.

Yes Atlanta airport is probably the worst i've been so far. The process is complicated and not fast at all. After i've been trough passport control they made me go to a small office with all my paperwork and wait for someone to review it. There were 3 employees there. One of them left just like that(don't know why), the other one went for lunch and the third one had no idea what to do with the whole stack of paperwork the embassy gave me. He made like 5 calls until he finally gave me my passport back. I asked him very nicely to be careful with my names spelling (had enogh problems with that already) and he still got it right at the third time (crazy!!!!) After that they pulled me out for another security check with my suitcases just because i told the officer i bought stuff from duty free (can you imagine). had to wait there another 40 min for someone to come, see them and tell me "why did they send you here? you have nothing to declare" REALLY??? I wasn't able to call my fiance because they didn't allow me to. He was getting really worried about me. After that i had to leave my suitcases to another lane and catch a train to get to baggage claim (like i wasn't with my suitcases already) When i got there the luggage wasn't on the lane and the lady from the airline said i might have to wait 1-1.5 hours to get it!!! Anyway i've been bitching enogh. All i was trying to share with you is that POE can be difficult so don't stress out if you can't get out in time

So @ bapacker I really can't say how long it will take you. I would suggest at least an hour after you land but again it depends on how busy they are. I've heard JFK are pretty busy so you might plan on a little delay. I don't think K1 have to wait more than any others coming with immigration documents. (I was with a couple of families in the office)

Hello everyone. I am now safe and sound in Atlanta with my sweetheart and everything is more than great. He took a couple of days off so we can really enjoy ourselves before we continue with the rest of the journey. He was so sweet. Met me at the airport with a huge bouquet of my favourte roses and he also had another really awesom surprise: we got me a new really cool cell phone Am I lucky or what?  But anyway I was not impressed by Atlanta airport. I will submit a review at some point but they were so slow. I got out with my suitcases 3 hours!!!!!! after I landed. Ridiculous!!! We are applying for mariage license in a few days and probaby going to the court house next week. It is all so beautiful. I am still not sure about the driving license but we'll figure it out.Will keep in touch

Ellie I think that you will probably get away without the HPV shot. The whole thing just seems ridiculous. Yeah I wouldn't do a wedding in England too. They are sooo expensive. My sis wedding is in London and when she told me how much are the costs i stopped complaining about mine. No wonder weddings are a billion dollar industry

Well yes. The requirement for the medical in order to get an interview is for women under 26. That is what i don't understand. As I said my doctor told me that the vaccine takes effect only to young girls who doesn't have intimate relations. This is also what internet web sites indicate too. Anyway I already had my shot and I am planning to take the rest of it (just in case) but still don't get this difference.

Just another thing I think you might be interested in. I talked with my doctor about the HPV vaccine and he said that it will not have any effect on me at this age. It should be used only for girls under 16 who haven't started their intimate life yet. So I don't really understand why do we HAVE TO do it or its just a comercial way for someone to make money. I apologize if I sound a bit rude but I really don't get it.

Kevin&Leilei whats going on with you guys? We've lost you in the last couple of weeks.

For me it has been a couple of very stressfull days. The consulate said I will receive my passport in 2 business days and as of today I still don't have it. I called them a couple of times and all they were saying is that it is not ready. Finally today at 2pm the lady said the visa is ready and I can come and pick it up if i want to. Well i live like 4 hours away from the capital so i couldn't really fly and get it. The whole problem is that starting tomorrow we have a 6 day holiday for the entire country and everything will be closed including the embassy and DHL. The long story short the consulate should of sent it today with DHL at 16.30 and tomorrow I will go to pick it up from the only DHL office that is working (10am-2pm). They confirmed that my packet should be there on hold but with all the problems lately i can't dare to hope. So anyway tomorrow will do a 4 hour trip to try to find my passport in the huge warehouse of DHL, hopefully my visa will be correct and hopefully i will leave in a few days. I can't even start packing because I still don't know if i will leave.

Would it be too much if i ask again to keep your fingers crossed for me?

I know most of you think what's the rush but we really are trying to do everything very fast because I need my AP for my sister's wedding in September. They are planning it for more than a year and I would die if i am not able to make it. We decided that our ceremony will be in 2010 so we'll have enough time for arrangements. We have relatives flying from Bulgaria, UK and Australia so I can't really invite them only a month ahead. Anyway i think i dealed you enogh with my planning

Here we crossed one step but we are still nervous. DHL has no record of the packet yet. It seem like i am going to miss my flight . I think that till the last minute there will be something to worry about. Every step of this process is really frustrating and i can only imagine for the moment where there will be no documents to wait for, fill out, etc. Sorry for this little outbreak.

Everything was great. They asked me just a few questions. They wished to see the photos but nothing else from the huge bag of proof i brought to the interview The CO said they will send me the visa via DHL and I will have it by the end of the week. If everything is ok I am flying next Monday. YAYYYY. It was not a big deal at all. if you wish more info i filled out a detailed review.

NatPatBen don't worry about not knowing for DS 157. they will send you instructions of what exactly you have to fill out. And also if you don't know you need only part 1 of the DS 230

vol4life congratulations for the interview date. Don't worry everything will be fine with you. As Ellie said it is different for each coutry but for what i've heard you have to pay for the additional shots. The medical fee is just for the examination. I paid $74 for the general procedures and then 189$ for the HPV shot. I didn't need anything else. I got my vacination record from our version of CDC with english translation. You really have to check with other people from your country or you can just call the clinic and they will give you all the details.

I bought my ticket in advance because i found a great deal and couldn't resist it. I might regret if there is a delay of some sort but if everything is ok i will be with my fiance in about a week after the interview (keeping fingers crossed)

I am taking for the interview :

- I-134, pollice record, proof that i am not married here (i think its required only here), birth cerificate, DS 156, DS 156k, DS 230

- e-mails, skype calls records, chats, etc.

- booking confirmations for all of his flights to Bulgaria (some boarding passes -don't have them all) and copies of my previous visas to US

- details from our holiday in Italy in February

- photoes, birthday cards, flower delivery receipts, engagement ring receipt and so on. basically everything that will show we have an ongoing relationship

Ok so I am healthy. Just got back from my medical. Got one shot (Papilloma virus) and apparently need two more, in a month and then six months. Certainly hope they are covered by my fiancee medical insurance. they are kind of expensive Anyway everything is good so I am ready for the interview.

Hello November family. I am about to leave for Sofia to get my medical and in a few days is the interview. I just received the new Affidavit from my fiance so at least one thing less to worry about. I am really nervous but trying to stay possitive and hopefully the good outcome will follow.

Do you think it will cause a probem if the Affidavit has only signature and date, without the full name written? If it matters the form is the new one (that doesn't need notarization )
