Do you have the receipt number that you can check the status online? If the status says, “We received your Form I-29F, and sent you a receipt notice.” that means they received the petition and are processing it. 7 months is not out of normal processing time.

They really are terribly unfair to the applicant… I mean you are paying for this service with your application fee, the least they could do is tell you where your supposed “deficiency” is. This one is a head scratcher as she is over the published requirement by about 25%

Did you keep a copy of the I-864 and supporting documents that you filed? (I hope you did) Go over it with a fine-tooth comb and make sure there were no typographical errors, calculation errors (i.e. - Household size) and as @OldUser mentioned above, did you send proof of your wife's citizenship or LPR?

Ours also showed step 3 completed after the biometrics appointment. Don't count on it being accurate. Prepare yourself mentally and with evidence to have an interview before approval is given and if they do waive the interview, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Also the kind of account you can create for a I-129F does not have a "Documents" tab. It's basically a case-status and status-history tracking account. Unless something changed in the last 6 months since I needed to check my I-129F case.

If you didn't file the G-1145 with the petition or within 10 days of acceptance then you will probably just have to wait. If they cashed your check then the petition was accepted (meaning they had no reason at the initial inspection to reject it and send it back to you). You can try to go to uscis.gov and click on "Chat with Emma" and request to chat with a live agent.

Based on this, I assume you filed the G-1145 with your petition and received the text from USCIS with your receipt number? With the online account that you can create for the I-129F, there is no way to look at documents related to your case. If you did get the text with the receipt number, and I see they cashed the check, that means they received your case officially and it is in the system. The NOA1s via USPS lately seem to be taking longer than they used to. I've seen comments of 4-6 sometimes even 8 weeks to receive it.

We just got Jaycel's I-765 approval on Wednesday.... How long after your wife's I-765 approval did it take for her new SS Card to arrive?

We did this with Jaycel's I-485 and I-765 applications too

Ok, so to be specific - If you are wanting to change your name due to the marriage, on the I-485, Part 1 - Question 1 "Your Current Legal Name", put your new, married name here. (As long as the name is some combination of names shown on the marriage certificate) Question 2, "Other Names You Have Used Since Birth" put your maiden name. Then in Question 19, you check yes in all the boxes and fill in your SSN in the spot provided and when approved, USCIS will notify SSA of your name change, and they will issue you a new card in your married name. If you are submitting the I-765 for Employment Authorization, follow the same procedure on that form as well and you will receive your new SSN in your married name somewhat quicker as the I-765 is usually adjudicated faster than the I-485. The SSN you receive after the I-765 will still have the restriction "Valid for Employment Only With DHS Authorization" on it but that's ok because you'll have your Employment Authorization Document. You'll get the unrestricted SSN card after your AOS approval.

That's awesome!! Just remember that the K-1 is a Non-Immigrant Visa and the case will change to a NIV and the CEAC status will say something like "Application Accepted" or something similar before it goes to "Issued". That's what happened on ours. So don't worry, it's normal.

Ok sir... Not one experience - Just the one I happened to mention but I will not argue with you as you have far more experience here than I. OP - Disregard my answer to you. Do not want to give you possibly bad info.

Do not rely on the "Estimated time until your case decision:" in the My Progress tab on the USCIS website. Jaycel's EAD said 3 months right after they accepted her application. After her biometrics, it went to 40 months and then a few days later it went to 6 months. Just a few days ago it changed to 7 months and then yesterday we received her approval. I am an engineering manager for one of the largest ISPs in the country and the Estimated Time feature is one of the worst and most inaccurate parts of any website I've ever seen, both governmental and private sector. Don't let it get to you.

HAHAHAHA Yes Jaycel has to do the same here in Colorado. Starting with her Learner's permit once we get the EAD card 😁

This is not correct.... a friend of Jaycel's got an RFE on her I-485 in December and two days later received approval on the I-765. Before they even had a chance to respond to the RFE.

Submit the copy of your DS-3025 with your I-485 when you file your AOS package. This will remind them you had your medical exam abroad and are exempt from the requirement to file the I-693 with your submission. The medical exam is only relevant to the I-485 and has NO bearing on your I-765 whatsoever. Your DS-3025 says that you as a K Visa applicant voluntarily completed the vaccine requirements. USCIS doesn’t often disagree with the conclusions of the panel physician but if they do, they will just issue an RFE for a new medical and you would just go get one at that point. Again, it will have no bearing on your I-765.
