K1 visa questions
Edward and Jaycel replied to Julie Vee's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
It does not need to be signed. See the section below from the I-129F instructions. I suggest you both study the instructions for the form carefully. My negligence in reading them thoroughly caused us to get an RFE for the I-129F and likely caused a delay in approval. How long that delay was, we will never know. The full instructions can be found here: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-129finstr.pdf Become an A+ student of them. (And the instructions for the forms and processes that you will need after the approval). Here is the relevant section: 5. Photographs You must submit one color passport-style photograph of yourself and one color passport-style photograph of the beneficiary taken within 30 days of filing this petition. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. The color passport-style photos must be 2 by 2 inches. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1 to 1 3/8 inches from top of hair to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8 to 1 3/8 inches from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare unless you are wearing headwear as required by a religious denomination of which you are a member. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo. -

If neither your wife or daughter are in removal proceedings, neither have a criminal record or charges pending and they return in the 3 months that you indicated, IMHO the risks are very low. I also agree with @Crazy Cat with these Social Media lawyers fear mongering. Admittedly, I am biased against immigration attorneys. I have seen 3 different lawyers royally screw up 3 friend’s cases. So take my rant about them with that knowledge in hand.

K1 - NVC Welcome Letter
Edward and Jaycel replied to MarioandMaria's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
Yes you ask them for your case number in the first paragraph of your inquiry and then follow it up with the email update request in the second paragraph. There is a spot to attach files in the inquiry, I would upload a scan of your NOA2 when you do this as well. This would not have made a difference since they told you they had received the petition but had not yet entered it into their system yet. Following up in a week should be ok since they said they have received it already. -
K1 - NVC Welcome Letter
Edward and Jaycel replied to MarioandMaria's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
When you do this, in the same inquiry also ask them to update the petitioner's and beneficiary's email addresses. This will ensure you receive all communications from NVC and the embassy. Sometimes when entering the email addresses from the I-129F at NVC to create your case, mistakes happen. We worded our update request like this: "Please also update the email addresses you have on file in regards to this petition as follows: Petitioner email address: XXXXXXX@gmail.com Beneficiary email address: XXXXXX@gmail.com" -
March 2025 AOS Filers
Edward and Jaycel replied to KStr2022's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Happy to share For work, I'm the manager of a technical engineering team and I shared this journey of the timeline tab with my team while we were waiting for Jaycel's EAD. They were speechless. Until one of them said, "If we put out a feature like that to our customers, you would have fired us." -
March 2025 AOS Filers
Edward and Jaycel replied to KStr2022's topic in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports
Jaycel's EAD estimated time before biometrics - 3 Months Right after biometrics - 40 months A week later - 6 months A week after that - 7 months A day later - EAD approved (Still showed 7 months until case decision) The "Timeline" feature on the portal is completely useless -
Do I need to register to travel?
Edward and Jaycel replied to LuckyCanard's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
If you are entering on the K-1 visa you just got, the biometrics you did during the consulate interview process (and will likely be required to do upon inspection at the PoE) will satisfy the registration requirements.
