Myself and a few other VJ members have been experiencing issues getting to the VJ site for the last week or so. It seemed to start with Spectrum Broadband as that is the service in my office and another member's home service. We could not connect from that service, but when switching to another internet provider (Going home and getting on XFinity Broadband in my case - Using mobile hotspot to connect for the other VJ member) It seemed to resolve for a day or so earlier in the week and then it started timing out again but this time it was not only Spectrum Broadband but had now spread to XFinity Broadband. I can still reach the site via my browser on Verizon Network Mobile phone. Don't know if this is a wider internet routing issue or site related but wanted to make sure the admins here were aware. Tagging some folks that I know are Mods/Organizers @Ontarkie @Ban Hammer @Crazy Cat

Questions around wife's eventual visa interview

WOW.... They just started allowing this recently and they're changing it already. Thanks for catching that! -
Yes proof of current income should be included with any sponsor. You can respond through the portal if the RFE states that you can. A friend of mine got an RFE and it said this on it: You must either mail the requested information to the address shown below or scan and upload your response using your USCIS online account (if applicable).
-
Six months of paystubs and a letter from the employer will be good evidence of current income - Likely that USCIS will not accept the house as an asset as they prefer assets you can quickly liquidate (Cash in a bank account, stocks, precious metals, etc.) It will only complicate things. Using assets to get qualified on the I-864 is a giant uphill battle best not fought if current income is provable.
-
Lack of proof of current income is likely the culprit here - Current income is king as @Crazy Cat stated above especially with the negative total income from the most recent tax year. Also I want to emphasize what was said above - You get only one shot at the RFE response. If proof of current income is not available, getting a different joint sponsor will likely be your only option for a response.

This is what you will do.... My address changed between the time I filed the I-129F and when we got approved. Jaycel just told the Consular Officer at her interview and he said, "No problem, just give CBP the right address if they ask at the Port of Entry." CBP did ask when she arrived and she gave them the new address. No issues at all. Don't waste your time trying to update it with USCIS.

Questions around wife's eventual visa interview
Edward and Jaycel replied to Nathan Alden, Sr.'s topic in Philippines
The medical is actually very easy to get scheduled at SLEC. We found multiple options available when we went on their website to schedule for Jaycel. If by some chance you have difficulty getting it done before the interview, they now allow you to do the interview without it and will issue her a 221(g) Refusal, pending receipt of the medical exam. It's the same if she gets flagged for sputum testing. If that happens she can go to the interview and will be refused pending completion of the medical. I moved Jaycel to Manila in an AirBnb for the 3 weeks it took to get everything completed (Medical, interview and pickup of visa at the LBC Mall of Asia branch) It worked out great. Then she went home to say goodbye to her family for a week, went to Cebu to get her CFO and then departed Manila for the US a couple days after that. We filed our ROM at the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco in December. Monthly we have been emailing the DFA to get the transmittal details of them sending it to the PSA and have been getting the runaround. Just yesterday we finally got someone to tell us what is going on. This is what they said: We apologize for the delay of the transmittal of your Report to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Please be informed that we are still waiting for the new original sets of registered reports from the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco as the initial reports we have received were photocopies. Thank you for your understanding. So the consulate sent the photocopies of the reports and kept the originals when they were supposed to send the originals and keep the photocopies... (Gotta love that Philippine Bureaucracy) -
That's awesome! Thank you. From some of the reports I'm reading here and in other places, it seems that if you have a strong case where they used to waive the interview, it appears they can't waive them anymore so they just bring you in to answer the yes/no questions on the I-485 and make any corrections if needed and then send you on your way. Kind of a, "Okayyy... we did the 'interview' and NOW they're approved". Just going by the letter of the procedure type thing. So happy you guys got past this stage Now Jaycel and I just have to wait and be patient 🤮 because I hear the Denver field office is slowwwwwwww. From what I see in the past stats from VJ members here, it's anywhere from 7-12 months just to get an interview scheduled here 🤪

Curious if that trend will continue as it has been previous weeks

I-129F Proof of Ongoing Relationship

100% save this for the Embassy interview - Great advice here -
If you are able to obtain the birth certificate then you must get a certified copy, make a copy of that and submit it. Keep the certified copy to bring to the interview if you have one. That rule above is only if the birth certificate is unobtainable based on the Department of State reciprocity table: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html
