Apologies - I was replying from my phone so I didn't see the details below on your profile which I'm surprised by as I think normally I can see them. I think it makes sense what you are doing with the AOS though as it gives you plenty of time to get the relevant documents and to prepare the file before filing it

I think it is best for me to apply for one about 2 weeks after travelling to the USA and before getting married and filing the AOS.

I don’t think that they do as when you select some categories you can then select the relevant form and then the relevant service centre and the timelines do vary between the I-131 forms on there.

Hi all, I have read that the recommendation is to apply and get the SSN before getting married which is what we are likely to do, however, has anybody applied for it after getting married and if so were there any issues? Hope you can help!

Thank you both for your point of view. I completely understand both points of view as well. The timelines are interesting as I have seen people receive theirs fairly quickly but have also seen people still waiting for theirs as well. It is a lot of money to spend as well. I think me and my fiancée have both said it would be a good thing for me to have but we don’t want to be waiting ages for it. I looked on the USCIS processing times for the Advanced Parole applications for the California Service Centre and it said 80% of cases are usually processed in within 14.5 months. Of course this is just a guide and timelines can vary.

They kept the I134 I provided at my visa interview as well

Hi all, Just wondering if anybody has to applied and paid for the Advanced Parole option at all? And if so how long did it take for it to be approved/processed? As this is something I am looking at doing at the moment. Hope you can help!

Hi, Thank you for getting back to me and letting me know. Just wanted to ask as I will be handing my notice in at work in the next 5-7 weeks and I wasn’t aware of getting tax back until another member on the forum mentioned it to me yesterday.

@j26 did you manage to cancel the return journey? Did you have to pay any amendment or cancellation fees and did you get a refund?

Do you know if they refund you all the tax you have paid in the tax year or a % of what you have paid in tax for this tax year? Apologies - I did some reading on this yesterday but I haven't looked at it all in depth yet.

No worries - free is always preferable of course haha I think I might have one of those annotations on my K1 visa. I will have to check but its good to have found out what the different annotations mean as well.
