K1 Visa Medical - Covid19 booster
SL2024 replied to Jonrodrii's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Hi Jon, I had my medical today and I had the Tetanus booster and the Hepatitis B vaccines. I need to book the Covid one as well. I did ask them whether this will delay the medical report being sent to the embassy and the nurse said they can withhold the medical report but only if I wanted them to if I want to get the Covid vaccine first otherwise if not then they can send it over to the embassy and said that I need to make sure I have got the vaccine sorted for the Adjustment of Status. I have decided to try and get the Covid vaccine before my interview but if I'm not able to then they said I can just ring them and send an email 2-3 weeks before my interview informing them to send my medical report to the embassy. My GP surgery does Hepatitis B vaccinations (I already knew they did as I rang them about a month ago regarding it) so I will contact them regarding the 2nd dose. The only other one I will need to sort is the flu jab but they didn't give me that as it's not flu season yet. -

Hi Jon, That's great - that does help a lot. When is your Covid booster? -
K1 Visa Medical - Covid19 booster

Hi Jon, Thank you for the update. I have my medical Friday and when I spoke to the medical place a few weeks ago they did mention about the Covid vaccine booster and like you I have had 2 doses and 1 booster so this is something that I need to arrange as well although I'm confused why I need another one as since I had my booster I have visited my partner since the vaccination requirement for covid so it's interesting that applicants are being asked to get another dose of it. Which vaccines did they give you today? Hope to hear from you soon! -
No worries! haha and that's good there are some nice cafes around - I might need to get something to eat and drink before. Will the wedding in August be in Oregon as well? In terms of collecting the passport that makes sense. I am still undecided whether to collect or get it delivered. How long is your notice period for work?

We felt it would be easier to deal with a specialist law firm and that it would reduce stress while ensuring we were doing everything correctly. I mean we could have done it ourselves but we didn't want the additional stress from it. Our lawyer has been really good (no issues there - he has answered every question) but I have found the paralegal we are liaising with in terms of queries difficult and I thought in terms of the 6 month query that it was incorrect so I have emailed them back to see if they have misquoted by mistake as everything else online says date from medical so just waiting on their response and explanation regarding that.

Hi ScarletWitch6x, Thank you for the advice. It sounds like you fiancé is similar to me then as I will need most of the 6 months regarding work notice and sorting things out. Have you been able to book your medical and interview yet? I keep checking the visa interview appointment site but there are no dates and times available when I look. Also what part of the UK is your partner from? Thank you!

Hi all, Just wanted to check but is it 6 months from the date of the medical or from the date of visa approval? As the medical place when I rang them about this and have said to me that the medical is valid for 6 months and within that 6 months from the date of the medical I need to obtain the visa and then travel to the USA, however, I have asked our law firm this question as well and the paralegal said it was 6 months to enter the USA from date of visa approval. I have seen different answers online regarding this and it has left me really confused about it. Hope you can help!

Ok thank you for letting me know Lee. I appreciate that. I am still trying to reschedule the interview date but unfortunately no appointments available at the moment still so our law firm is contacting the embassy about it. When you are going over to the USA now you are approved or are you still deciding on that?

Hi Joseph, Thank you for letting me know! I appreciate the advice and help. So was your interview this month? How did you travel to the embassy? I'm looking at either getting the bus or train into London then either getting a bus or the tube to on the way to the embassy. Also what state are you moving to?
