It's definitely not the easiest to sort out when it comes to HMRC. My P85 has been received but when looking at their response times they said it could be the 17th January 2025 at the latest that I get a response regarding it. I do have another issue with HMRC though where one of my previous employers has duplicated my salary and tax paid resulting in them thinking I haven't paid enough tax (about £1k) for the tax year 2022-2023 so after having speaking to them, I have contacted my employer at the time and asked them to amend their RTI submission. They haven't replied to me yet after 3 working days but my manager from my time working there has said she is willing to help get this sorted out for me which is good. HMRC have put the case into query for 6 months while this gets sorted out as well. I'm glad you have managed to get some things sorted out now as well. I have been added to my fiancees Gas+Electric bill, Water bill, Credit Card and Costco Account (not that this one is too relevant). Got my SSN appointment next Monday and then once I have received that I will look to get a bank account. Also in the process of scheduling our wedding ceremony.

Sorry that it is taking so long for you. Have you decided on a new wedding date seeing as you have gone past the 12th December 2024 now?

We got our marriage license a week ago and my fiancee did ask if we needed an SSN to get married and she said that we didn't. I think I am more concerned that after applying for the SSN whether getting married before physically receiving it would cause some issues with the SSA that was all. Although it's good that they confirmed yours verbally to you!

Hi, I have my SSN appointment at our local SSA Office on the 23rd December 2024 as I want to get my SSN before getting married (as that seems to have been the best option recommended rather than get married first and then apply for the SSN), however, I was just wondering whether after applying for the SSN whether I need to physically receive it in order for us to get married? Or would it cause issues if we get married after applying for it but while it is being processed and before being delivered? As I know that sometimes from some posts on the forum there have been issues with the SSN when applying for it after getting married first. Apologies but this is something I have only just thought of so any advice or knowledge that anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated. We will more than likely wait until I have physically received the SSN but I just wanted to ask that was all. Hope you can help!

Hi all, Just an update on this - I went to the mobile phone provider that my fiancee uses yesterday and they were able to add a USA number (they made this my primary number as well) to my phone as well for no extra fee.

Hopefully that all gets sorted quickly for you mate!

Hi all, I am travelling to the USA tomorrow and just done the online check in and entered my visa details. It says I am checked in but that the travel document details I have entered aren’t valid for this flight and that the boarding pass isn’t available to print and to collect it at the airport? I have double checked the visa details to make sure that they are correct as well. Is this just for the staff there to review my K1 Visa details to make sure that everything is correct? Has anyone else had the same situation before as well? Hope you can help!

This is what I am anticipating. I am travelling to the USA this Saturday. I know people have said after 2 weeks (I did see on a page on the SSN site saying 10 days but not sure if I should go at 10 days or 14 days?) to go to the SSA Appointment after booking online for the SSN which would be around the 23rd December.

Boots was for 12 years and older and they did have Pfizer (cost me about £100) and I believe Pharmadoc had Novavax as well but oh well at least you have had the vaccine now.

The Covid vaccine was available for free on the NHS for certain categories of people and it was available in the UK privately through companies such as Boots and Pharmadoc.

Hi all, Hope you are well. I am travelling to the USA from Heathrow this Saturday and I was just wondering what peoples experiences were in terms of going through security with the K1 Visa Sealed Documents Package? Did they ask you any questions at all about it or did they not say anything and you just put it in the tray for it to be scanned through? Just wondering if I need to explain to them what it is at all (even though it says on the package)? Apologies this is something I have just thought of and stressing me slightly. Hope you can help!

Apologies @Edward and Jaycel I was reading this post again and just wondered if you were able to clarify what you meant by copies of her Visa if possible please? I am only aware of the Visa being in the passport - do you mean they take a copy on the Photo ID page in the passport and the page where the K1 Visa has been added into the passport? Hope you can help!

Just an update on this but my Aunty received my P45 on my behalf on Thursday which was the day before my last working day with my employers. I went and collected it from her earlier today
