  1. My fiancee took me to Wendy's for a Dave's Double Combo after I requested it when I got there (I was so hungry) haha
  2. We have our courthouse wedding tomorrow but are in the process of getting some of the documents and information to save time for getting everything together to file our AOS (the rest we will get ready after the wedding). I think ultimately it is up to you what you include in your file but I agree with @Edward and Jaycel that you should give the strongest case possible so try to include what you both have available already and what you can get in between now and when you file the AOS. Things like Marriage Certificate, Joint Bank Accounts, Joint Health Insurance, Mortgage/Rental Agreements, etc.
  3. Just a quick update but my SSN was delivered in the post today!

  6. My fiancee's dad got me added to their family phone plan with their phone provider (AT&T) so I was able to get a US number added to my phone which is dual SIM compatible. Does anyone in your fiancé's family have a family phone plan they can add you too? Or is your UK phone not compatible at all with any of the providers you have looked at so far?
  7. Nah I just took what was listed on there
  8. I'm surprised they said it will take up to 3 weeks to arrive to you though although of course each bank will have different timelines of course. She just went into her local branch and spoke to the teller there about her requiring a statement from the officer of the bank and a list of what needs to be included in the statement. She was asked to verify her details and then the teller told her that their manager could do it and that they would email her later. She received it either later that day or the day after. Once she had received it then she emailed it over to me and I printed it off for my interview.
  9. This statement from an officer at the bank is something that my fiancee obtained and provided for the I-134 when I had my interview at the London embassy in August last year. It was on a list of items required for the I-134 when I looked online quite a few times and we provided it as didn't want to take any chances
  10. I can definitely imagine it will be a relief for you after about 2 months of waiting for the SSN. I hope all goes well with the submission of the AOS as well
  11. That's understandable. I'm just glad you finally managed to get the SSN! I imagine you will be looking to file your AOS as soon as you possibly can now?
  12. Oh no I'm sorry to hear that. Do you mind if I ask why they denied? I fully understand if you do though
  13. How did the interview go? Sounds like it was all ok?
  14. Glad that you have at least got the SSN. I can imagine that this period has been very stressful while you have been waiting for it. Are you going to go back with the documents and collect the card soon?
  15. They did and I called the Office number
  16. I rescheduled my original interview although that was in the UK but I just kept checking everyday (usually once in the morning and once afternoon) for an alternative date and time that was suitable for me to become available. I only checked 2-3 times a day as I did read online that sometimes only a certain amount of logins were allowed but I don't know how accurate that is.
  17. I called them today as it had been a week since I called and the lady on the phone said it was processed yesterday and should be delivered to me within 1-2 weeks
  18. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows if there are delays with SSA issuing SSN at the moment at all? Normally on the forum I have seen quite a few people say that they have got theirs back within 1-2 weeks after their appointment, however, it has nearly been 3 weeks since my appointment and not received anything as of yet. It does say on the letter from my appointment that it can take up to 4 weeks so I am mindful it can take a bit longer along with that there were federal holidays recently (Christmas Day and New Years Day) along with being closed on the 9th as well. I will give them a call in about a week or so for a status update though. I have seen a few people on the forum recently say that they had to wait a bit longer than usual as well. Is it normally a bit slower this time of the year (due to staff levels and federal holidays)? Is it dependent on which Office and/or State that you are applying for a SSN in? If anyone has any insight or knowledge on this then it would be greatly appreciated. Hope you can help!
  19. Congratulations! Glad you both got married. Hope you are able to get the SSN sorted out next week!
  20. Sorry to hear that! Were you not able to go to another county and get married without the SSN? I saw on the SSA site yesterday that they were closed. I’m waiting on my SSN at the moment. Been about 2 and a half weeks but I am factoring in federal holidays in as well
  21. Has been just over 2 weeks since my appointment and not received it yet although I am aware that there were 2 federal holidays recently so hopefully it will come in the next week or 2 (says it can take up to 4 weeks)

  23. Me and my fiancee are also looking at doing Crater Lake National Park in Oregon as well
  24. I'm not sure to be honest but I'm glad you have made some progress with it and that they sent the email to you though!
  25. Yeah I don't think you can actually call them (I think it might say that on one of the letters from the Embassy but I can't remember to be sure) but I did send them an email before when I had a query once and the response time quoted was within 5 working days but the response I did get seemed to be more of an automated response to my query
