  1. You can actually - when I went to my SSN appointment they gave me a letter with the office number on it along with the national number. The local office number was also online for the one I went to as well.
  2. Not with the UK it isn't. I had a sealed envelope and I know and have seen people on the forum that said the same thing
  3. I have only ever seen people advise to go 2 weeks after entering the USA. This post is from 2022. I wouldn't class that as recent. Which number have you been calling for SSA? If it's the national helpline number then try the local office number for where you applied for the SSN or go in person to the local office you applied at like @K1visaHopeful said.
  4. No - you need to file an I-765 and wait until that is approved and the EAD card has been received as well
  5. Couldn't you have got a co sponsor or someone else to sponsor him for the AOS? And borrow the money for the AOS filing fee?
  6. It depends on the CBP Officer. You will need to give them your passport and the sealed document folder from the embassy. They will ask you some questions and take your fingerprints and photo and remind you of the terms of the K1 visa. They will then stamp your passport and return that to you.
  7. I think I contacted the embassy once or twice with queries but the responses seemed like generic responses
  8. I would recommend getting the SSN as soon as possible. I was told to go about 2 weeks after entering the USA
  9. Hi all, Just wondering which out of these 4 sports in the USA that you prefer to watch or is your favourite? (Feel free to say which teams you support as well). I like them all but my favourite to watch is American Football (LA Chargers) as that is the closest to Rugby which is my main sport I played growing up. Next would be Baseball (San Diego Padres) and then Ice Hockey (San Jose Sharks). I watch Basketball the least (only occasionally) but I don't really have a team I follow or support much in it.
  10. Since I posted this I have been to a Trader Joes though which was a good experience
  11. I would go at that time if I could - would definitely be a lot quieter
  12. I haven't been through this myself but he could always contact Visa Medicals and ask them when his year begins from. If I had any queries they were very helpful and even if they didn't know the answer they would look into and call me back.
  13. I used the standard option with this company and it went by UPS and the only issue was a slight delay at customs which got resolved but apart from that I found them very good to use. Everyone's experience will be different though. Sorry to hear that this happened to your wife though.
  14. In terms of arranging my medical last year (in June) I was told to have about 10 days between my medical and interview so I would adhere to whatever number of days the current recommendation is
  15. Sorry that this has happened to you but I agree with everyone else on this post. Know your own self worth and value. I think you know and it looks like now you know what you need to do. I wish you the best of luck in resolving this.
  16. I agree - the timelines do change usually month to month
  17. It took a week for us to get our NOA after our petition was sent. I wouldn't be following someone off social media for this process though. Either check the USCIS instructions on their site, ask people on this forum or consult with a lawyer.
  18. I was thinking this earlier. When I had my medical I was there for about 1-2 hours.
  19. This is an interesting update. (I had my K1 visa interview last August) Do you mean you have to go the same day after your medical or just some time in between your medical exam and interview? Just curious to know
  20. Just a waiting game now I guess. I'm filing mine in about 2 weeks. Just making sure we have got everything ready before filing it
  21. I just can't believe that is is taking so long to get a social security card. I wonder what the issue or the delay is?
  22. Glad it's all ready! Bet you will be relieved after you file it tomorrow or when you get the NOA1 for it?
