  1. Hope it gets resolved soon! How is the AOS preparations going?
  2. Great review - a train is definitely not cheap in the UK!
  3. I had this annotation on my K1 visa when entering the USA and the Border Official at POE. I gave him the sealed document package from the embassy and my passport. He took my Biometrics and asked me some questions and then stamped my passport and gave it back to me but he never said anything to me about it. I think you should be ok!
  4. I agree that you should get the SSN as soon as you can. I went for my SSN appointment about 2 weeks after arriving in the USA as most people I had seen on the forum on various posts had said that was the best option. It definitely makes things easier. Best to get done ASAP and have one less thing to sort out!
  5. I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe see if it comes this next week and if not call back the week after?
  6. Thank you - how long have you been waiting for since you actually applied for it?
  7. Brilliant - thank you for letting me know!
  8. This a useful graph. Do you have the link for it or for the website you got it from at all?
  9. It might be worth looking at getting an account with a local credit union as sometimes they can have better rates, better service, etc. than some of the more mainstream banks. Those are some of the reasons why my fiancee is with her current provider. Her provider also doesn't require a monthly fee for the account either. Definitely worth looking around and enquiring into all the options - what their requirements are to set up a new account, what they can offer and see which one is best for your needs.
  10. That's the situation I have in terms of getting a bank account and joint bank account with the bank my fiancee uses at the moment as I need a Driving License or State ID but they said that while my passport was ok they couldn't accept my Visa or I-94 as they had less than 60 days on them until they expire so looking at the REAL ID checklist for the California DMV the only option that can get me this is the EAD card. I have seen some states that do allow you to apply for one if you have the NOA1 for the AOS though.
  11. That is very true as well! I would agree as well that photos of wedding should be included as well.
  12. My fiancee took me to Wendy's for a Dave's Double Combo after I requested it when I got there (I was so hungry) haha
  13. We have our courthouse wedding tomorrow but are in the process of getting some of the documents and information to save time for getting everything together to file our AOS (the rest we will get ready after the wedding). I think ultimately it is up to you what you include in your file but I agree with @Edward and Jaycel that you should give the strongest case possible so try to include what you both have available already and what you can get in between now and when you file the AOS. Things like Marriage Certificate, Joint Bank Accounts, Joint Health Insurance, Mortgage/Rental Agreements, etc.
  14. Just a quick update but my SSN was delivered in the post today!

  17. My fiancee's dad got me added to their family phone plan with their phone provider (AT&T) so I was able to get a US number added to my phone which is dual SIM compatible. Does anyone in your fiancé's family have a family phone plan they can add you too? Or is your UK phone not compatible at all with any of the providers you have looked at so far?
  18. Nah I just took what was listed on there
  19. I'm surprised they said it will take up to 3 weeks to arrive to you though although of course each bank will have different timelines of course. She just went into her local branch and spoke to the teller there about her requiring a statement from the officer of the bank and a list of what needs to be included in the statement. She was asked to verify her details and then the teller told her that their manager could do it and that they would email her later. She received it either later that day or the day after. Once she had received it then she emailed it over to me and I printed it off for my interview.
  20. This statement from an officer at the bank is something that my fiancee obtained and provided for the I-134 when I had my interview at the London embassy in August last year. It was on a list of items required for the I-134 when I looked online quite a few times and we provided it as didn't want to take any chances
  21. I can definitely imagine it will be a relief for you after about 2 months of waiting for the SSN. I hope all goes well with the submission of the AOS as well
  22. That's understandable. I'm just glad you finally managed to get the SSN! I imagine you will be looking to file your AOS as soon as you possibly can now?
  23. Oh no I'm sorry to hear that. Do you mind if I ask why they denied? I fully understand if you do though
