  1. we reached out to the NVC after a month to get our case number. Our case arrived at the embassy about a week later. My Fiance get a letter from the NVC saying our case was sent to the embassy over a month and a half after it was already at the embassy. so I wouldn't rely on receiving a letter from the NVC in a timely matter. You're much better off submitting an inquiry to them, they are usually pretty responsive.
  2. the NOA1 just confirms that they have received the petition. it probably wont get scanned into the system until they begin the review process. which will probably take a few months to get to yours based on the current processing time
  3. while on the US side the K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, embassies process K-1 visas (including the interview) as immigrant visas (meaning the immigrant visa side of the embassy is the part that processes it). it is weird and doesnt make a lot of sense. that is probably why they canceled the interview, because it was with the non-immigrant visa department and not the immigrant visa department like it should have been.
  4. looks like they have a google form (not one to fill out, but to get you the right information on who to contact) that you can go through https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc1_BFhuTI_OkX3XsyHASgla9yQzYKb7bMOkNdGBFE_u5psJw/viewform but it looks like this is the email they use: support-thailand@ustraveldocs.com or this local phone number: 02-105-4110 you could try either way to contact them. most embassies from what ive read prefer email though
  5. it is up to the consular discretion to extend the petition. some embassies do this automatically. some want you to contact them to request to have it extended. you would need to contact the embassy that has your petition to confirm with them that they will/can extend it. the 4 month expiration is a little strange, but they are usually pretty good about extending it without issue. I haven't heard of anyone having the issue where they wont.
  6. Oh good. Maybe the letter got returned to sender so they just emailed it lol My fiance just emailed the confirmation page of the submitted DS-160, not the visa fee itself.
  7. It is a pretty long list of things honestly lol Once you receive the packet 3 from the embassy, it should list everything that will need to be brought to the interview. The information here would help more since we are going through the Frankfurt embassy https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Kingdom&cty=London
  8. i would suggest reaching out to the NVC to confirm with them where your case currently is. im not sure why the USCIS site would say that if the NVC still has your case.
  9. if the case numbers are the same it could be for the reason that SneakyPete had said. if you're still concerned, you may want to reach out to the NVC and explain to them whats happening. or contact USCIS and ask them why they sent you two noa2s with different dates
  10. are the case numbers the same? or did those change as well? you may want to contact USCIS since they are the ones who send out the NOAs
  11. that form doesn't have any personal information pre-filled out at all. but it isn't like... a "government form" so to speak. it doesn't have any form number associated with it. looks like it is just something that someone typed up themselves. looks like this basically: Please also complete this page and submit it on the day of your visa interview: Family Name First Name Middle Name ALL other Names used or Aliases (if married women, please give maiden name) Full Name in Native Alphabet (if Roman letters not used) List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Being with you present residence: City or Town Province Country From/To (mm-yyyy)
  12. the packet my fiance got was pretty big and had a lot of stuff. but this is the portion that you're referring to. the subject for the email is I22. has something to do with what department to email is routed to, not the year itself. There is a form included to list your addresses since 16. there is not a form to fill out and mail to request an interview appointment. that is all done online and you get that information once you email them the DS-160 confirmation. some of the information on the frankfurt consulate page on this site is not up to date from what I can tell. It says to mail to documents to the office, you no longer do that. everything is brought with you to the interview.
  13. since your ex-fiance is the one who filed the petition, they would have to be the one to write a letter to USCIS to withdraw the petition. the burden of canceling the petition falls on the USC not the foreign fiance. there shouldn't be an issue if you are sponsored by a different USC who hasn't filed an I-129f before.
  14. There is no need to redact any information. Especially his passport number. That information is part of what they use to make sure he is a citizen of where he says he is and various other things. I don't see an issue with blocking out part of the bank account numbers. Since USCIS doesn't need to know you financial status at this point It's better to prpvide as much as you can
  15. you would need to contact the embassy your case was supposed to go to. confirm with them they have the case and what your next steps are meant to be to schedule your interview and medical. The embassy can extend the validity of your case, but it is up to them to do that.
  16. we waited 2 weeks before submitting an inquiry to the NVC to get our case number. Our case was updated to "sent to DOS" on march 12, and I reached out to the NVC on the march 25 and got a response the next day with our case number. Some cases USCIS still sends through the actual mail to the NVC and not electronically, I'm honestly not sure how they send I-129f petitions. So if you were to reach out sooner, they might not have it yet. I would say still wait until the 23rd to reach out to them. Even if you did get the case number now, you still have to wait for the NVC to send your case onto the embassy in the UK. which can still take a month or so, it depends on the embassy. the case number gives you the ability to track your case through the CEAC. I know july seems like a long wait, but you still have to gather the remaining documents that are brought to the interview and there is still the medical that the beneficiary has to go to. July is only a month and a half away and that is honestly not too bad. But if your case was only sent to the DOS on friday, theres a good chance the interview wont be until august maybe even septmeber. And again, i know that seems like a long time from now. But even that is in less than 3 months. trust me now is just more waiting, there is not much you can do while your case is being sent between USCIS, NVC, and the embassy other than gathering the documents you need for the interview.
  17. I would think they would take issue with it because you are still under age. even with parental consent. Like i said, you may still be able to get by with the consent forms, but the process might take longer. sponsoring a visa is not a simple thing. There's a lot of rules that go along with it. It might be worth contacting USCIS directly so see if there is an issue with you filing an I-129f at 17. I don't think its very common to be that young filing this kind of visa petition, as there is not a lot of information about it. The only thing I could find that says other wise, it filling out an affidavit of support (I-864), where you have to be at least 18 to file it, even with a joint sponsor. But that form doesn't come until after the K-1 visa process is complete.
  18. i don't think the longer packet will cause a longer wait time. Regardless of parental consent USCIS might take longer because of your age, since the legal age to marry in every state except 2 is 18. "Both the U.S. citizen and the K-1 visa applicant must have been legally free to marry at the time the petition was filed and must have remained so thereafter. The marriage must be legally possible according to laws of the U.S. state in which the marriage will take place." https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html you may be able to get around that with the parental consent, but USCIS might still take issue with it. Not sure when you turn 18, but you might be better off waiting until then so you don't waste money or time.
  19. typically the NOA2 gets mailed out the same day it was approved. the USCIS site will update to "sent to DOS" not too long after. for example mine updated to "sent to DOS" 6 days after it was approved by USCIS. I believe I received the NOA2 sometime in between when it was approved and when it was sent to DOS. I believe USCIS only sends batches of petitions to DOS twice a month. USCIS is usually pretty good about sending out the NOAs, so I wouldn't be to worried
  20. I don't believe there was a specific letter that needed to be brought to the interview. There was the letter explaining what needed to be brought/how to submit the ds-160 confirmation, a copy of the approved i-129f, and a form to fill out of all previous addresses from the age of 16. And a domestic violence information pamphlet
  21. USCIS sends your approved petition to the NVC. The NVC will then create a case number and forward your case to the embassy in the beneficiary's country. the beneficiary should receive a letter from the NVC with the case number. once the embassy is processes the petition they will send a letter, also sometimes called packet 3, to the beneficiary with more information about what is needed to schedule the interview. you more than likely still have a few months before the interview will be scheduled.
  22. 1. they may not accept it if it is not signed. technically anyone who works in payroll can sign it. 2. you can provide an unsigned one if it is on some sort of bank stationary (i.e has their logo), but again they may not include it in your proof. but you could still provide it. 3. you want at least 3 years of tax returns. 4. if you cant get a signature for the employment letter, multiple W2s from the previous years should be good. as well as several paystubs. I believe I provided 3 months of paystubs (6 total since i get paid bi-weekly). 5. yes you do. you need to show proof that the income you list on the I-134 is legal and accurate. for example, you cant say you make 200k per year without the documents to back that up.
  23. as someone who also used boundless that timeline they give you is just an estimation. They make it out as far as possible to basically not get peoples hopes up and potentially sued for false advertising. for example, my fiances K-1 interview is scheduled for this coming july. But boundless still says the estimated approval is June 2025. When did you submit your I-129f? what stage of the process are you in? you should fill out your timeline on here. that way you can compare your timeline to those going through the same embassy. USCIS processing for K-1s has sped up significantly. some who have submitted in january 2024 are already receiving responses from USCIS. the site trackmyvisanow is also very accurate. you'd get more accurate processing timelines from VJ or trackmyvisanow (which does have to be paid for monthly, but you get a few days free and the subscription automatically cancels once the I-129f gets approved)
