  1. @JeanneAdil I don’t know what you mean by your reply but my mother has been living here with me in Maryland for 8 years so I know what I’m talking about. She could only get Medicaid after her 5 years of residence. My income doesn’t even play any part in that decision making because she is considered an adult on her own with no income.
  2. Most states won’t give her any benefits if she hasn’t lived in the US as a permanent resident for 5 years.
  3. So if you didn’t apply for an AP and you overstayed your visa, how do you intend to come back to the US if you reschedule your interview? What kind of visa would you come with?
  4. @JeanneAdil It looks to me like it was edited to add his then wife to make it look like he was living together with her which wasn’t the case.
  5. @OldUser Okay, thanks for letting me know. I remember the interviewer telling me if I wanted to keep my last name hyphenated with my husband’s name, then I had to wait but if I drop mine and take my husband’s, it could be done the same day. I didn’t know the rules were different for different places.
  6. What is she changing her name to? If she’s just taking your last name and dropping hers, then it can be done the same day. I did same when I did my naturalization.
  7. @JF-JR Once you file the IR2 and he enters the US, he becomes a permanent resident. As to paying the fee to the acquire a green card, I’m not too sure about it. Even if he requires a green card, that shouldn’t take more than 90 days to receive. You can get him a passport but the risk is that, if in the future, you are not around, he may have problems renewing the passport because he wouldn’t have anything to prove his citizenship.
  8. @JF-JR Your child should be eligible for citizenship immediately after he enters the US and obtains his green card. Just make sure to file N-600 so he doesn’t struggle to prove his citizenship in the future.
  9. @Romantic18 He did take it with him but they didn’t request it. I had the opportunity to see him before the interview so I was able to get it to him with the ink signature but I guess that wasn’t a priority for them but my original divorce certificate was.
  10. Usually, they are given a slip after the interview with the instructions to pay the fee. Did they not receive one? I know my husband did receive one for sure!
  11. @Andrew-Whop Sorry to hear that. Have you or your fiancé tried to contact the embassy about it? The London Embassy is responsive to inquiries as far as I know.
  12. @mico1989Athens When my husband attended his interview at the London Embassy without the original copy of my divorce decree, he was put in AP. I had to mail it to him to send to the embassy. They wouldn’t accept a copy. It’s better you sent it to her than later be sorry.
  13. @RBS Congratulations to you. You should receive an email from the embassy today or Monday since today is Friday. I believe the email comes with a link to track it. If you chose for your passport to be delivered to your address, you should get it by next Tuesday or Wednesday.
  14. @M S Khan Wonderful! I wish you all the best.
  15. My husband entered on September 11, 2024. He received his green card on September 19, 2024 Green card on November 21, 2024.
  16. @RBS That’s good to hear. I hope you get your visa issued soon. @M S Khan Did your wife receive her passport yet?
  17. @M S Khan Congratulations to you both. If your visa was issued today, don’t rely on the tracker to get the passport today. It may probably be delivered tomorrow or Wednesday. That DX company is horrible.
  18. @RBS sorry to hear that. I hope they complete the AP soon for you.
  19. @M S Khan I think everyone is different. Most people move from Refused > Administrative Processing > Issued. For ours, it changed from Refused> Issued. However, yours shouldn’t stay at Administrative Processing for long. @M S Khan
  20. @M S Khan That’s great news. You may see “Issued” tomorrow.
  21. @M S Khan I’m positive that you will be able to go with her. Let me know if anything comes up.
  22. @M S Khan Oh okay. Let’s hope for some good news this week. It can change any day so hold on tight.
  23. @M S Khan This is strange. Did your wife receive anything from the medical clinic? My husband was sent his vaccination records after a week of redoing the medicals. That was how we knew the embassy had received it. I can’t think of any reason why they haven’t issued her visa yet. Has there been any updates in CAEC since they received her passport?
  24. It didn’t work for my husband. We had to buy another phone. Even his PayPal account wouldn’t switch over to the US.
  25. @Mill&bill Yes! Just download the email into a PDF format and upload it to your medical appointment and print a copy to the interview.
